I Love Turbo Tax and have been using it for years. This year I had to bump up to the Premier version which was fine. When I finished my Federal and Pa state returns I wanted to file the most Efficient way and file both via E-File. I filed the Federal very efficiently via E-File but I noticed that there was a $25 charge to E-File my State return (which was no refund, no payment). I find this charge to be ridiculous as we are paying $83 for your Premier software AND "since you cancelled the Its Deductible software" I had to spend another $29.99 for comparable software to complete my Tax returns this year. To me the E-File is the easiest and most efficient way to use your software but putting this charge on there for the State filing is highly unfair and make me wonder Whats Next!!!! Should I continue to use Turbo Tax or look at other Tax Softwares?

Had to utilize a tax expert - not for any tax assistance per se, but I could not e-file our returns. The linkage to pay the fee to e-file for CA was linked to your tax Assistance feature, which was declined. As it turns out this prevented up from e-filing and accepting our banking info. My recommendation is to make the features separate. I was concerned if I waited until the last minute, I might not have filed on time.

I've used TurboTax for decades and this year was disappointed to see it had misleading information about Massachusetts bank interest. It also put dividends from an irrevocable charitable trust into Schedule B without informing me so I had to search around online to find out why there were no numbers in Schedule E. I expected better from TurboTax (I was using the Premier desktop version.)

I have been a Turbo Tax user for 25+ years, and this year I noticed instability in the product, features weren't very clear, and support - I couldn't get through. I have noticed that the quality of the product has deteriorated over time, but this years product was crashing few times. Integration (data import) with financial institutions also didn't appear to work, until I found the solution through support forum, after calling the support line and waiting for 30 min. It would be very helpful if the screens have suggestions and settings to verify. Also the tax prompts needs some redesigning - e.g. it was difficult to find where to put second home information.

There were three places where the turbo tax program got caught in a continuous loop and wouldn't let me proceed or save what I had input and I had to keep repeating the same steps over and over until it finally kept the info and let me move on. Also, at the end it gave me an error message that the file could not be transmitted by Inuit. Several hours later I tried again and it successfully got filed. This was stressful. The filling in of the forms took me 3 hours due to the glitches. But otherwise I like using turbo tax and have a high level of confidence in it. It was harder to use this year than in past years.

Turbo tax is potentially just average. The use of ItsDeductible and its ease of importing charitable deductions had made me loyal to Turbo tax for decades. Now I feel inclined to look at other tax software to see what they offer and if I think they are more special than Turbotax.

I AM CONFIDENT THAT MY TAXES HAVE BEEN CALCULATED CORRECTLY THIS TIME. I WAS ABLE TO VERIFY THE CALCULATIONS BY SWITCHING FROM THE LEAD ME TO THE FORMS PAGES. I WISH THAT THEY WOULD HAVE A LINK THAT WOULD GO DIRECTLY TO THE IRS INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOTH FED AND STATE TO INCLUDE A LINK WHERE THE VALUES CAME FROM ONE FORM TO ANOTHER. I REALLY DO NOT LIKE DOING TAXES AND THIS MADE IT EASY. WORKING FROM MY SPREADSHEET TO TURBOTAX WAS SEEMLESS. THERE WERE NO INTERFACE PROBLEMS AND THE UPDATES BEING LOADED BEFORE WORKING ON THE RETURN NEVER FAILED. COMPATIBILITY GOOD.

Too many steps to "upsell" within the program. Too many places the program "dumbs" down, rather than simply having spaces to transfer from forms (specifically in the interest and dividend sections). Bring back It's Deductible. That was actually a very useful part of the program. Best feature is the carryover from previous returns (why I come back) for things like losses. Kind of ironic that this year, I needed to upgrade because i had a 1099-B, which I've had in previous years, so the Premium. Even though, for 20+ year, deluxe was sufficient.

your program crashes on people when it is trying to transmit after people sent hours on it. Also, why won't it all you to just upload forms that can't be imported so they do not have to mailed. The import function only allows you from a limited amount of companies.

Not very user friendly. There should be additional guidance or an explanation on each page. Biggest complaint is when filing in multiple states. I have a rental in another state. I had to keep switching back and forth from the federal return to the other state return so I could manually input information on the state return that was already included on the federal return.
