I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years and am very pleased with the product. However, I had a significant issue this year when I tried to e-file a federal return for my daughter and son-in-law. I made the mistake of e-filing a federal return for their 16 year old daughter before e-filing the joint return for her parents. Due to this timing, the IRS rejected the parents' joint return and they have to file paper copies for both Federal and state. The Turbo Tax specialist that I spoke with said this situation with rejected e-file returns happens quite frequently. If that is the case, an advance warning within the Turbo Tax software would be helpful to help other parents easier avoid this frustrating and time consuming pitfall.

The software requires the user to pay for e-filing before the filing process is complete where it was discovered that I was ineligible for e-filing and now I need to go pursue a refund, which is ridiculous. A customer shouldn't be charged until the very end of the process. And on top of that, trying to find out how to cancel a payment is of course not found anywhere.

This year had trouble with inputs of energy efficiency improvements claim credit. Turbo tax couldn't efile the taxes due to an error Had to delete the entry in order to efile loosing $600 credits. Also on the State efile (Alabama) I was keep getting an error on non resident form (I've been filing the same way every year). Tried multiple times until finally got through. Not sure will use turbotax next year for 2026 taxes

Turbo tax is very easy to follow and if you use it consistently it keeps track of everything for you. It really helps with complicated things like depreciation, passive income, carryover losses, etc which I would have little idea about how to figure. Their support people are outstanding and have always answered all my questions.

This feedback is for the desktop version Turbo Tax 2025. All I can say is what happened?, did you stop investing on the download version...I see that you are pushing online. I purchased and downloaded windows version today, software crashed, on several steps, click done with income freeze, clicking done with deductions freeze and close...I re-installed to see if that would help but it did not. I have been a long time TurboTax user, I expected software to be more perfected after all these years, rather what I see is you have gone backward or intentionally lacking support for desktop version. I don't know if someone will review this, I sure would like some feedback.

I've used turbo tax for years, but I have to say this year it was not as user friendly as before. Forms I needed were difficult to find. And previously the program would remember that I have 2 RMD's and ask about the other if not completed. Slightly disappointed. As well, all the sales attempts to make more money are ridiculous. I think we pay enough for the program that at least the filing should be free for both federal and state.

E-filing was tedious. It required a passkey to gain access to Turbotax in order to pay by credit card. Once paid, it took 3 times to check for updates, and then the Turbotax servers were busy! Very frustrating. Regarding the program, there were no provisions to see where numbers were coming from nor to edit, as in the older versions.

TurboTax is the best tax software I’m aware of. I do not like the change to the way the Interest and dividend forms must be selected and edited. There used to be simple list of payers under “interest” and a separate simple list of payers under “dividends” that could be selected and edited. Someone at Intuit thought combining these entries by the payer was an improvement, but it’s not (hence 4 stars instead of 5)

I would like to skip the software update when opening the software sometimes. Currently the update is mandatory every time I open the software or my return file. Because I want to have more control when to update the software so I can work offline and only connect to internet when I need a update.

I have been using TurbTax for few years, and IRS did not came back for correction: Accuracy is good. Interface: should be added clear notes what fields to sue from form, and add examples for how to fill up some screens like when tehre are 2 or more states involved, and need to check which one is double taxed
