TurboTax - Why can't I correct the "Errors"?

This will be the last year I use TurboTax. Every year there seems to be a bug or error that is not explained or that cannot be easily corrected. This year I had to delete multiple TurboTax worksheets in order to be able to file electronically. When directed to the location of the "error," I was unable to make fixes or changes.

Fan of Turbo Tax - Hoping for some enhancements

I really like using TurboTax each year, but I will say I have had challenges with inputting information regarding my child and the use of the 529 plan. I really think there should be functionality that questions if something seems odd or not. In my case I didn't realize if did not include the right about for room and board. I entered one month versus 12 times that monthly amount. Seems like there should have been an error or call out to ask is that correct? I did something similar last year. I catch it after I file because the advice section has triggered me to go back and look back on the feedback. It highlights that I paid a penalty which then tells me I made an error. Can you look into adding some functionality. Thanks!

TurboTax is helpful

TurboTax makes filing easier and quicker. The only thing this year was that when trying to put a credit card in to pay for my state tax filing I couldn't put in the December month in the dropdown box it only went to 10 not 12 and I had to use a different credit card.

Too complex & nickel & dime crazy!

Copying & pasting bank information saves mistakes, and saves time. Sending one state return included is the decent thing to do, not nickel & dime us and make us use a reddit card if we do not get a refund from rhe Feds. You should make us want to use you and recommend you, not make things worse, these taxes are enough agrivation We cannot recommend you any longer.

Turbotax is excellent

I engaged -- several times -- with Darlene D because she is so clear and easy to work with. She was patient with my errors and helped me understand lots of points about how Turbotax works. I enjoyed her good cheer and clarity. She went the extra mile. We made several "dates" so I could be sure to get her help.

No more upselling

Upselling and Add-ons :(

I hate being upsold at every turn - I should not have to select the correct product multiple times and constantly say no to upselling. It was disappointing to have the software version and then be required to pay extra to e-file state returns. That should be included in the product cost - especially for the higher tier products.

Efficient Method for Tax Return Preparation

Streamline the entry of investment data for users that don't want to import for any of their brokerage info. Felt like I kept going in a big, repetitious circle. Simple question should be "Do you wish to skip the import process for all of your investment transactions?" Don't keep making me trudge through it over and over when it is faster to key in the few boxes than log into the brokerage and import. The sizing of the screen layouts takes up a lot of space and requires the user to do an unnecessary amount of scrolling up and down to see it all. Yes, you can reduce the page size to fit it all in the screen, but then the font is smaller and harder to read. A good balance of screen layout and readable font size is what we need.

Unable to use Online version

I have a lot of trouble filling in Form 3840 (Like-Kind Exchange). I sold 2 properties, each in exchange for 2 other properties and the online version does not allow me to enter this properly. Due to this Im forced to use the desktop version where I can key in manually

No longer intuitive to use

Program is no longer intuitive to use. Several issues again this year. Your daily program updates give me zero confidence in Turbo Tax being well designed tax prep software. I like to download the software rather than use the online version so I see the daily updates. For this same reason I feel the same about the online and assisted offers you have.

I had some issue this year.

I got stuck with a login issue, I used the Live Tax advice and quickly resolved the issue. Then I got stuck with the Federal Review and / Fix. The form would not advance. I used Live Tax advice again, however we went through lots of menus of grayed out options (likely due to I'm on a Mac). So I started my taxes again from the start. I got to the same section again. Then I had to pay for Live Tax Advice again, since I lost my previous privilege. The person I got to this time quickly showed me how I had to verify and validate my 1099's and cleared up everything. From there everything worked AOK.
