TurboTax is a useful tool; however, it could be much better. I would suggest you dry run it on folks with minimal accounting knowledge who are pushing the software to its limit. Examples would be dealing with an amended return from last year, K1s or multiple capital gain generating funds all of which gave me trouble this year.

Awful. - constantly trying to upsell - asks for tons of hard to find information only to report it couldn't be used. And it knew that before asking. Complete waste of time. - Making us repeat entering information it already has. Such as asking if we'd use the same direct deposit account, then asking us for account and routing anyway! Thats crazy. Not useful. - Misleading at times. Asking for information during review that it already has, in obscure ways while trying to upsell. - No linux version. Requiring Windows 11. - Online version didn't support all forms we needed. 5329 for missed RMD.

Everything good except a glitch on this item below. "Dependent Wks form is complete and filled out, associated Student Wk form is filled out and has dependent specified as a student for 2025 - High School (Secondary). People Wk for dependent has blank TP/SP Link that will not populate. Form flags this as an error, if you try to efile your return it requests that you fix this error before filing. If you try to bypass the error and efile anyway it will not let you."

I am a long-time TurboTax customer (since 1998) and am disappointed in this year's version. The product brought forward 1099-INT & 1099-DIV from last year, but when I downloaded the information from the same bank & investment companies, new entries were added to TurboTax and I had to delete the entries brought forward from last year. Also, the feature to add additional details was problematic, usually didn't work in "Step-by-Step" mode. So I had to go to "Form" mode to add the information. Plus, marking an amount as estimated didn't work the same or as well as in past years.

Turbo-Tax would not let me e-file without entering a phone number. Why? The IRS makes a big deal out of saying they will never call you; they mail you. So why must I enter a phone number? An explanation when the question comes up would be helpful and informative

There are still a few things i need to fill in for Interactive Brokers. I am sure you know what they are but in case you don't it had to do with the cost basis of the unreported. I only had three so it wasn't a big deal. But if you want things perfect that is the one and only one thing i see wrong.

I have had nothing but problems upon problems while using the TT software. First, I found it really hard to install TT on a MAC device. It seems TT is not able to create a Native MAC application. I have to use an Intel chip emulator on my MAC device to run TT. This is terrible. What happens when in the future MAC updates this Intel chip emulator is not supported? I will not be able to run my older returns. Do I file a lawsuit to get all my money back? So just after I pay up for State TT Software and am about to file my return. TT returns with an error saying transmission failed and some obscure instructions about not having the correct updates. Shouldn't TT be checking for updates constantly and saving me the hassle and stress of dealing with Transmission errors due to updates?? This is just a terrible experience. My taxes are fairly simple. Maybe I will move to another Tax software next year while really providing terrible reviews online.

I like the ability to use forms rather than go through the interview when I don't need it. Reviewing deductions and credits is helpful. One thing I'd like is to have a link to the resource to correct a line item rather than having to go through the review first. Overall I find it very easy to use TurboTax.

This yrs turbo tax NOT as user friendly. For some reason I had to go into investments 1099-xxx and manually select and/or enter data. AL state tax same way. In the past yrs - (decades) TurboTax would guide me thru almost painlessly, this year NO SO.

Decades long Turbo Tax user. The software, while a tad difficult to load this year, provided easy-to-follow instructions and assists; when I needed more information the advisor interface was available to get the details I required. I really appreciate the many features of this TT Premier.
