You must study applicable Fed Form instructions to understand given up and replacement property prices, fees, basis, and depreciation. Use Step-by-Step to answer questions and enter correct values. More detailed guidance is needed. After completing the exchange interview, switch to Forms view to verify that the Form 8824, 4797, Sch E, and depreciations are correct for both properties. I spent hours learning and trying different choices and values to get an error-free 8824 and correct forms. I called several "Connect with an expert" most couldn't help. I finally reached an enrolled agent with years of experience. We spent 5 hours figuring out how to answer the questionnaire. Later, I found the replacement property's basis was wrong resulting in a serious error in depreciation.

I don't want to e-file my state return because of the $25 charge. I need to send a check for my state tax return, but Turbo Tax did not give me the proper instructions to do this. I have used Turbo Tax for many years and this year I found the changes you made to importing tax documents was extremely confusing and unlike the method used in all the previous years. Also when paying for add ons it is extremely difficult to enter the data because the screen is so big that I cannot see certain fields. I had to change credit cards just to be able to enter in the expiration date because it would not scroll down to month 12.

This year your program was kind of buggy and the interface not as good as last year. When I went to enter data for 1099 forms the program would not let me enter anything. Spent the whole afternoon trying to get it to work. Finally had to search online to find a work around. Luckily it looks like it got fixed in an update. The way you display the list of accounts when doing 1099 forms takes up too much vertical space - don't need so much blank space around each account as it limits how much i ca see at one time on the screen. Also, why do you NOT do form 8990? It would not that complicated for the TT to fill it out. It is somewhat confusing (due to poor irs instructions) on how to fille out and takes me a lot of extra time as i need to figure out how to do it. Also, anyone who needs a 8990 must now file by mail not by e-file as there is no way to add it to the return.

As an 11-year customer of TurboTax, it pains me to write a negative review, but it's time to face the truth. The truth is that in the age of AI TurboTax increasingly seems clunky and overpriced. TurboTax needs to cut its price drastically to survive.

On probably about 10 occasions I resorted to asking Google AI a question about what something meant, what the difference was between one answer and another, and where in TurboTax I was supposed to make a certain entry.

The TurboTax experience was about as annoying as usual. This year required dealing with upgrading to Windows 11, it's own nightmare. Then, as usual the software required constant updates, and in fact required one right as I was filing. Necessitating an additional review of the tax return. And now this survey can't seem to keep up with my typing, so I have to deliberately slow down so that it doesn't reverse or skip keys.

I have been using TurboTax for years. I am confident that my returns are correct. My returns include W2, 1099R, Social Security, Interest Income, Rental Income, and Royalty income. It is very easy to use for income and deductions. I would recommend TurboTax to anyone and save the cost of going to a CPA.

Completed and filed tax return by e-file using a desktop version. Received a refund. Needed to amend the tax return. Turbo tax is telling me that I have not e-filled the taxes and I have to print it. Cannot get to preview or print the amended state tax return. Some field that may be left "blank", Turbotax is telling me there is an error. There is no enough information how to fill or avoid filling these lines (Schedule C). I would like to see the real form to review, not just questions.
