I got an email stating that I got an electronic download email was delivered, but nothing came through....I tried calling customer service and was connected to an agent that was barely understandable, and I deduced she said to wait up to 72h hrs. and see if something magically happens. This item cannot be returned so looks like I have to spend more time in 72 hrs to communicate gobbledygook and get frustrated all over again. This is the last time I make a "digital download" from Sam's.

I started with TurboTax online and quickly found deficiencies. You can't easily use it to create a per forma return. Portions of the programs didn't provide enough information/assistance. Download information couldn't be easily moved between the desktop and online versions. I stopped using the online version and moved back to the desktop version which in much more helpful when completing your tax return.

Need to know, in the calculations, what numbers that you entered are being used. I didn't see anywhere, as the system walked me through, the payments I already to the feds and states being taken into account to come up with what I owe. It should be easy to follow where the numbers you inputting are going.

There are still a few things i need to fill in for Interactive Brokers. I am sure you know what they are but in case you don't it had to do with the cost basis of the unreported. I only had three so it wasn't a big deal. But if you want things perfect that is the one and only one thing i see wrong.

I used the desktop version of Turbo Tax Premium. The step by step instructions for calculating future year estimated taxes need improvement. While there is a specific step to enter W4 withholding, there isn't a step to enter expected withholding from social security, pension plans, planned/scheduled IRA distributions, etc. The only way to make these entries is by going to the worksheet form. This is not obvious from the instructions.

TurboTax is a useful tool; however, it could be much better. I would suggest you dry run it on folks with minimal accounting knowledge who are pushing the software to its limit. Examples would be dealing with an amended return from last year, K1s or multiple capital gain generating funds all of which gave me trouble this year.

After using TurboTax product for decades, I'm going to switch services. Trying to file my State tax for the $25 fee was impossible! I kept getting a "slight snag" loop and had to pay $65 from my Federal refund to e-file my taxes. Very frustrating!!!!!

I have used Turbo Tax every year since 1998, and the CD is the only way I will ever do it again. This year I purchased the online installation Premier Turbo Tax, and installing was a nightmare. I got stuck in an infinite robot screening with photos that kept coming up with no end. I finally had my son, an IT specialist for Boeing, install it for me, and it took him an hour to get around that robot screening glitch. Never again.

In general I am greatful for Turbotax for someone with a few complications to my tax return (rental property, inherited Roth IRAs). However, Turbotax failed to carry over a home energy tax credit from last year, that I might have missed if I weren't paying close attention. It also raised questions during the "Smart Check" that were very, very difficult to figure out, and which required me to go back and forth with experts through the TT question and answer, over the course of more than a week. How I answered the questions made a difference of mor than $1,300 in my federal tax liability, so it mattered. I do think there are problems with the program, its accuracy and its clarity. But I appreciated the help from the experts.

I was unable to download any information from my Merrill Edge brokerage account. Support only recommended trying again later. After a full week went by, nothing changed. I still can't download from there and I find it hard to believe I am the only customer that has had that problem. Navigating the various menus was not as intuitive as in past versions of Turbo Tax. I've been using Turbo Tax for the past 20 years and it took me more than twice as long to prepare my taxes this year than in any previous years.
