I Love Turbo Tax and have been using it for years. This year I had to bump up to the Premier version which was fine. When I finished my Federal and Pa state returns I wanted to file the most Efficient way and file both via E-File. I filed the Federal very efficiently via E-File but I noticed that there was a $25 charge to E-File my State return (which was no refund, no payment). I find this charge to be ridiculous as we are paying $83 for your Premier software AND "since you cancelled the Its Deductible software" I had to spend another $29.99 for comparable software to complete my Tax returns this year. To me the E-File is the easiest and most efficient way to use your software but putting this charge on there for the State filing is highly unfair and make me wonder Whats Next!!!! Should I continue to use Turbo Tax or look at other Tax Softwares?

Absolutely awful. Program deleted my completed returns so they were not there (or anywhere0 when I went to file. The digital assistant is completely useless. I said it before, but I am done with this sub-par program. AVOID AVOID. Deluxe Desktop is even worse than the online platform and that is saying soething

No, I am not engaged to any of your Live TurboTax experts, although I'm sure that they are all wonderful individuals and I just realized the question was - DID, I engage a Live TurboTax expert? No, but I'm still sure that they are all wonderful people.

I have been using TT since it was a baby and this is the first year I had to do the total return without guidance because the guidance wouldn't let me enter our life insurance interest via the guide me feature. It would only allow a transfer from the institution which New York LIfe correct address was not listed. I expected to enter it manually but was not given the choice except directly to the form. I also had problem entering my rental expenses as some categories would not let me itemize. I have not had this problem in the past. This made the check my return feature difficult as it didn' seem to recognize the forms entry. I had to delete some TT made form and make new ones. I also had a problem wih the charitable contributions and also had to go to form to enter.

The new format does not allow for detailed listing of individual items such as specific doctors or Real Estate taxes I paid. I could not itemize my charitable deductions. The old format made it easier to locate where I wanted to go back to. Your expert, Lynn, was very helpful in showing me where to find a way to import data. She understood my problem and solved it for me.

State Filing section buggy. Requires sign-in even using installed software version. No way to exit short of signing in (didn't have a sign-in) or hard cancelling, which I had to do from task manager. And presses hard to do state filing even though WA doesn't have state income tax. Pretty stupid. Should be able to take "NO" for an answer. "Senior discount" new this year. Some explanation would be good. Spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find where that came from; whether was accurate.

When i was preparing the VA state form, TurboTax indicates it will automatically optimize the spouse tax adjustment. When I did the final review, I noticed that TurboTax did NOT do it. It only gave me $179 adjustment instead of the maximum of $279. I had to manually made the adjustment by myself. Also, the program is getting so cumbersome it is taking much longer than necessary to complete the return.

TurbpTax has evolved beyond its realistic use. Eliminating the CD is problematic. And some of the new features are not helpful. I have been using TurboTax since its inception and find last year and this years versions not as user friendly. though i still like the product.

Have been using turbo tax for approximately 20 years. I purchase the Premier version.This year it has less features on various levels, Ex: they took out the donation value calculation program. It makes it MUCH HARDER to do taxes without it. There are also glitches within the program. Ex: It asks me if I want to file a Washington State tax return, and that I can't e-file because of this WA thing. I do not have anything to do with Washington state. This year it also gives HUGE RED BOXES and CAUTION SIGNS. Do they not understand how STRESSFUL it is that these keep popping up?? Who in their company thought this would be a good/helpful idea? This guarantees continued stress in an already tension filled situation. For as much $$ that we pay for this program it should be better and less glitchy!! DO BETTER TURBO TAX

I've been using Turbotax for several years (my first was 2021, when I decided I didn't need an accountant) I was happy due to how user friendly the system was. It actually guided me step by step with absolute clarity. THIS YEAR'S VERSION, 2025 PREMIER, IS MUCH MORE CONFUSING. I HAD TO GO BACK AND FORTH MANY TIMES. And I am not yet sure that all the information I entered was correct. Not the number itself but the type ofinfo required.
