Last year I had trouble with one of the sections. it was two days before taxes were due and I called the helpline. The agent was super friendly and walked me through the steps and then asked if I had any other questions. She was very calm and professional. I wrote down all the steps so I could complete that section this year,

Difficult and confusing at first about adding investment sources. Initially the steps were unclear. Once I determined the method, it was cumbersome because each time I want to add an investment source, TurboTax cycled through the step where I supposedly could find the investment source by using drop down menu. Waste of time, I just entered each investment source on my own.

1. TurboTax has trouble calculating the tax for the sale of my business in California with my being a resident of Florida currently. It double taxed the income because of interview process errors. 2. The cost of the product is way out of line. 3. You did away with It's Deductible which removed a feature from TurboTax that had to be replaced by other efforts.

Newer format is a bit confusing to an older generation. I tried the online version but didn't like that I couldn't save the tax form on my computer...or at least I couldn't figure it out. I've been purchasing the desktop version for years so I can file my daughter and son-in-law's taxes for them. Online version didn't lend itself well to that application.

I struggled more this year with using Turbotax. The 'Interview' process wasn't as intuitive as in the past. I especially had trouble when trying to report our sale of a piece of undeveloped land that we inherited but wasn't used to produce any income.income.

turbotax works WAY too hard to transfer people to the online version of their product. It gives the impression that you want to own our private information. It makes turbotax look bad and gives me personally the idea that you have bad intentions. And when people's private information is involved, especially where the IRS may be concerned, it is a complete turn-off.

This year's release went much more gooey in entering some of the data. It doesn't include a cross-check to the forms we have, which are pretty prescript in the fields (1099 forms in particular). The gooey interface questions are way too subjective.

Everything was great except that I did not notice that this year's versions of TurboTax would no longer work on Windows 10. So I had to move my tax info from my old computer to a brand new computer that I already purchased but had not configured which come with Windows 11 installed.

Generally favorable experience, however this year estimated taxes were quite confusing and rather complicated. Plus, there appears to be a known and obvious and significant error in the calculation of quarterly estimates for federal taxes that had not been corrected as of Apr 9! The vouchers for my case were about 1/4 of what they should have been, so I will have to manually enter my value and not use the TT vouchers. State was ok. That error could have incurred significant penalties next year.

I've used TurboTax for decades and this year was disappointed to see it had misleading information about Massachusetts bank interest. It also put dividends from an irrevocable charitable trust into Schedule B without informing me so I had to search around online to find out why there were no numbers in Schedule E. I expected better from TurboTax (I was using the Premier desktop version.)
