I've used TurboTax for years, but this year after paying and going though the full data entry process, it would not complete the filing process and near the end it would not complete the process to file, and kep insisting I must fill out an aditional 700+ pages of additional forms for capital gains, which were provided by Edward Jones, inc. So, I took my printed forms to a tax advisor and they said I was doing everything correctly, aud TurboTax would not let me file neitjer Federal nor Virginia. It was a fiasco and frustrating to say the least. Apparently I consulted wih a TurboTax Customer Services Reprentative who had me erase my Capital Gains entries and reload them from Edward Jones three times, but the answer was the same. In order to file Federal and Virginia income taxes, I was forced to reprint everything and manually mail the returns. I heard there was a problem with TurboTax regarding Capital Gains... If so it should have been corrected through an update

I have used TurboTax for at least a decade and feel comfortable using the tax software to complete and E-file my federal and state returns. However, I was unable this year downloading my 2024 return and had to insert all my personal data and was unable to compare 2025 return to 2024 return. Once I got started completing my federal and state tax returns, TurboTax software was straightforward to complete and E-file.

Even though I imported all the tax documents, the program would not automatically pre fill the values as it had in the past years. I had to do it manually. So why should import any documents? The help section was totally worthless. That is why it received only 4 stars

I've used TT for years and think it's great. I am in an registered domestic partnership (California). This year I had two issues. 1. If I don't start the state return on my federal return that I will file as single, TT does not print the filing instructions. This is annoying, since I don't need to do a state return to file my federal single return. And this year I couldn't get the filing instructions to print at all for my RDP's single federal return. 2. On both single federal returns, TT "lost" my filing status and reported it as a missing field. After re-selecting it, TT proceeded but when it did the final review, IT WIPED OUT MOST OF MY RETURN and set my refund to $0. Luckily I had save my return. I ended up skipping the Final Review.

The download process was smooth and simple. TurboTax guidance is efficient and typically easy to understand. The ability to import documents is a particularly helpful feature. Per the review process, our taxes are done accurately and have little risk of being audited. The e-file process was easy. The only objectionable aspect was the electronic filing fee for the state return, so we chose to file a paper copy. It seems to us that once we've paid for the product, we should incur an additional expense to e-file the state return.

Turbo tax premier Why is the question re OPM CSA plan type - why asked why not a given, Calculation of Federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) payment for 2024 in 2025 SSA not clearly worded.  Does box 5 want data from the prior year statement or of the current 2025 statement. For unknown reasons I get Canadian retirement page.in the step by step process opened. When entering new investment income, if you click on an item like US Department of Treasury to enter data - the system takes you to the investment import screen and you can't get to the item.  I had to manually start a form. The import does not allow you to cycle through multiple 1099s. You have to restart the import function again. First year of RMD wording unclear if you did take it in the first year but do soo  by December 31st instead of waiting until April of the following year, MD State: On the federal return one takes all the time to enter in which spouse in a joint filing earned which income and what portion of gains are from US government obligations but none of this information transfers into the MD form for computation of  the two income marriage deduction  or the income that is from US obligations.  You collected the data - why must I waste my time  building a separate e spreadsheet?  This really impacts the value of this product.

I have been using Turbo tax since it was first started. Its a wonderful product. Keep up the good work. But I wish you would allow uploading brokerage information from a file on my computer rather than from uploading from the broker"s web site. Your disclousure states that I must agree to let you look at all my data , rather them just my tax statements.

I owned one rental property and wanted to create a hypothetical situation where i sold this property and find out what would be the tax consequences and how much taxes i may owe. I have difficulties finding the functions and unable to get the solution.

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years and I am pretty happy with it. I like the features which allows one to scan W-2's and quickly import all information into the return. I also like the feature that allows me to import all my tax documents from my brokerage firms, simplifying the filing process. This year I purchase the live tax advice and I am pretty ha[ppy with it. Once I requested advice while preparing my return, I got a phone call in a fairly reasonable amount of time. Overall, pretty satisfied would Turbo Tax and would recommend it to others.

During the TurboTax powerup process, it went to update TurboTax and then while downloading updates ran into an error and went into the TurboTax application without any warning. When we finished and got ready to send the tax forms, TurboTax informed us that we had to update TurboTax before it could transmit the tax forms. We got out of TurboTax and re-startd it and it immediately went into a 45-minute update process of TurboTax. When it finished, it allowed us to transmit the tax forms. Pretty cool!!
