Don't need the expert advice, because turbo tax is very simple, ease of use, it interfaces with my banks and makes transferring information easier and W2 is a breeze to import the information , Also the features are so simple to use and never for 10 years had any audit issues, accuracy and support is the best, why need experts...

I have been using Turbo Tax forever. It is very straight forward and easy to use for most part. Things I don't like is when Turbo tax suggests to check topics on my own - for example, while calculating foreign asset depreciation it suggests to use some ALT method!! Why can't the software do this? Very annoying.

Having done my own taxes for over 60 years, - without software mostly, then TaxCut and now Turbo Tax, and having various semi-complex issues, I think I am well qualified to comment. Turbo Tax is quite useful , but is beginning to suffer, somewhat due to Tax code complexity, and from a number of program bugs in the effort to become more "user friendly". I found with the K-1 forms, the carry forward blocks did not function properly leading to trying various dummy (incorrect) values to be able to move on to the next line item. Then a mystery signifiant "additional deduction" appeared in the review without explanation, and there was no way to obtain a link to become informed. It turns out that this was the new "Senior Deduction." It also took a number of attempts to get the "forms" button to activate in order to verify how certain entries were being recorded- in prior years programs, this was always easy. I also discovered that a Treasury Direct 1099 has no Box 1, yet TurboTax Interest entry form has both Box 1 and Box 3, leaving one to guess whether you enter the entry twice, or only once ( the correct answer is only once, in Box 3- discovered after noticing my initial entry on both lines created a double count of the actual interest earned. I caught the error through due diligence- not Turbo Tax looking for possible errors in the final check step. I could not discover if possible or how to download K-1 entries from either of our PTP LLC's. nor from Treasury Direct. It was easier to just manually enter than search longer. I cannot e-file due to the inability of TurboTax to accept an attachment statement document upload. (an IRS Code section 266 annual filing election to accrue expenses on a land investment held for eventual sale). finally, TOO MANY solicitations to e-file, buy help, etc. endless !

Love the interface with options to 1) step through areas where you need help, 2) go straight to the areas where you need to enter info, 3) dig into the forms to see exactly why the answer came out the way Turbotax calculated it. Lots of info about specific instructions to understand the conditions that require special treatment. Love the guaranteed accuracy and the e-filing support.

Turbo Tax used to be a great product, but not anymore. The things that distract me the most when I want to concentrate on doing my taxes are: (1) the non-stop screens that try to sell me stuff I don't need; (2) removing Its Deductible without telling me BEFORE I bought the product; and (3) the constant attempts to get me to use the online version instead of the desktop version. I will never buy Turbo Tax again.

Generally straight forward although on occasion I did need to cross check versus home records. No issue with downloading o my PC or retrieving prior years return. Chat wa sometimes helpful although at times ddi need to go to the internet to reconfirm certain items. Seemed to work intuitively.

This was the worst version of TurboTax I have ever used and I have used TT since the first version came out. The new Brokerage download and review is horrible. Had trouble finding information within forms when thigs were questionable. This is the first time I do not think my taxes are accurate.

The third-party access authorization process was not clearly explained and required several trial error steps for me to complete the process properly. Reporting interest paid on my HELOC was frustratingly difficult. The IRS does not require lenders to issue 1098 if interest paid in the year is <$600. The software said intructions say: "if you have not received a 1098, request one from your lender." I contacted Turbo Tax for assistance on the HELOC process; the agent, Kristy, was very helpful but did not know how to resolve the issue. After spending several hours, again trial & error, I was able to input the information and complete the return with no errors reported and the information reflected as appropriate. I strongly suggest review and improvement to input of HELOC interest payments when the IRS does NOT require the lender to issue a 1098.

Great tool for filing taxes, but the app crashes or gets stuck in a transmission state when errors occur. I had to search online to figure out the problem. Additionally, my tax returns should be accessible on the website. I can't find my returns from the desktop version when I log in with the same credentials.

Don't purchase online, buy it in the store. I made the mistake of purchasing it online, and then the next week it went on sale. I tried to receive a price adjustment, but they told me it was an online purchase, so I was out of luck. If I had bought it in the store, they would have credited me the $18 difference.
