Software does an excellent job of walking you through the complicated tax code to zero in on what applies to your situation. Would give it a perfect score if it would draw last year's AGI into the return (had to look it up on the old file), and ESPECIALLY if they wouldn't charge e-file for the State! The state doesn't charge to e-file! Why should TurboTax? They shouldn't.

Annoyances: * Can't paste numbers with leading or trailing spaces - the app should strip them instead of complaining that "you must enter e number" * I receive a shareholder K-1. After saying yes to have that or other forms. Premier tried to start adding a Schedule C for a small business. * Had to go through billing twice, first to add a state then to pay for e-file. This should be done together, and it should offer to fill in billing info from my home address.

Everything good except a glitch on this item below. "Dependent Wks form is complete and filled out, associated Student Wk form is filled out and has dependent specified as a student for 2025 - High School (Secondary). People Wk for dependent has blank TP/SP Link that will not populate. Form flags this as an error, if you try to efile your return it requests that you fix this error before filing. If you try to bypass the error and efile anyway it will not let you."

The updates are provided, on average, about a month after I actually needed them - VERY slow in providing a complete, ready to go product. Interface is EXTREMELY clunky, requires WAY more mouse clicks to do what you need to do, and whomever decided to NOT provide the "opt out" of auto-importing documents should be tar/feathered.

Good experience with Federal return and Colorado return, not so good with Hawaii return. I encountered some issues with Schedule E for a vacation rental, so I went to the Help Menu and my questions weren't answered. I had to use the most popular AI platforms to get the correct information explained to me with step-by-step entry instructions. I've used Turbo Tax for 15 years and have been happy with the ease of use until my returns became more complicated due to the purchase of a vacation rental in Hawaii and a temporary residency change to Hawaii. I found the Hawaii return Help Menu to be lacking the detail I've grown accustomed to with my other returns. I suspect AI will change how tax filings are prepared which might be the end of this product.

There is an issue this year with how QCD disbursements are being reported by Financial Institutions. On the 1099R the financial institution in box 1 is reporting only the net amount (RMD-QCD). Turbo tax asks for the amount in box 1 and then ask later what your total RMD is for the year. Turbo Tax then treats the difference between the RMD and the amount reported in box 1 on the 1099R as failure to take the total RMD and subsequently treats the difference as a penalty and assess a penalty tax on it.

I cannot e-file with Turbo Tax because my income is not taxable on W2's. You should fix this. Now I need to file an amended return and I can't find the form because you think I didn't file. Support used to be great but not anymore. I'm using another company this year because my computer uses Windows 10. Can you fix this? Getting too expensive.

First time using turbo tax. Retirement, investments and the changes to the Tax code made getting help a necessity. I'd like to see a clearer way to indicate military retirement. There was a separate selection for Government Civilian retirement pay, please add one for military retirement so the "is this the the way to report?" questions are eliminated.

Technical Support was fantastic. Very personable, competent, patient!! Please continue to offer a physical disk version of TurboTax each year to enable loading and viewing/using the software long after Intuit has stopped supporting older versions. It seems that Intuit is making it more difficult each year to obtain a physical disk copy of the Turbo Tax software.

Problem: I have downloaded TurboTax. it is open and have progressed a bit. I am now at the point of needing to connect to my investments in Fidelity. I entered my log in and my password. TurboTax did connect with Fidelity. Then next step was a verification step where TurboTax asked me to click on the icon/word "Allow". I did that but nothing happened. It looks like the icon/word is simply nonfunctional. The "Allow" button (or similar verification step in the browser pop-up) often appears non-functional because of modern browser security restrictions around local network access. TurboTax uses a browser-based OAuth flow to connect to Fidelity, and recent updates in Chrome, Edge, and other browsers block the desktop app from receiving the data unless you explicitly grant permission. Turbo Tax should describe the necessary fix. Also, big problem: A person purchased TurboTax for 2025. the person, when asked to prepare the tax online or on their computer the person said online. After filling out all the necessary information the person attempted to print the return. turbo tax said the person must pay $200 ? There should be a warning when a person selects “online” that they will be subject to a large unexpected fee. Especially when they already purchased the program at a local store. Would save the customer much pain and $$$’s.
