Turbo Tax is my savior (for taxes)

I did work with one of your online experts who patiently worked through the entries that were causing the problem. Together we found the entries that needed to be corrected. We have both sent you suggestions for improvement next year. I've use Turbo Tax for the past 20 some years and appreciate all the auto carry forward totals that would be impossible to keep track of manually. Thanks again.

Turbo Tax is terrible - full of errors!

This product disappoints. Forms that have had bugs for years have not been rectified. In a recent year I sold a house - a rental property. The "tax expert" told me to list the sales price and cost basis on the Schedule D "just like any other asset sale." This is the second time I set up Estimated Tax Payments only to have the program zero them out in the end. Terrible product!

Great - Except for charity donations.

Great as always, but since there is no longer ItsDeductible, please make importing .txf files for donations more complete/streamlined. Importing the file itself isn't difficult, but then completing all the necessary additional information is cumbersome. Not sure I did it correctly. Thanks!

Some ups and downs with entry format

I didn't care for the format changes made this year, as I was used to the previous format and the new step-through entry process kept making me feel that I missing things. Found myself going back to recheck entries. Also import from my e*Trade account never worked as I have a 2-step verification and it kept telling me that info returned from the institution said that I was entering incorrect login/password info. I was able to log in via my cell, so I knew that my entries were accurate.

Not a good year for this product.

Transmission of data from financial institutions was a mess this year, more work on users part to correct. Some error messages vague ---For example, a field that required info [caused by data capture failure as per above] was not highlighted--- no clarification of the issue. Errors popped up in final checks, and at times disappeared simply by employing error check repeatedly. Glitchy As a 20-plus year customer, this was the worst!

TurboTax could be fantastic, but...

I always seem to run into some type of issue. This year I could not pay the $25 fee to file state taxes last night. Ended up working early this morning. Still had problems with the foreign tax credit and had to use the same workaround I had to pay Intuit for advice last year and I kept getting a strange error message about during the review about having my state taxes directly debited--didn't have much confidence they'd actually get debited so I'm mailing a check. I've used TurboTax for over 25 years and the last few years I say this is the last year I'll use it.

TurboTax- getting worse and worse every year

Every year Turbotax continues to get more and more frustrating. Endless popups to try to sell add ons. Poor directions. Forcing me through interviews I don't need. I am beginning to think I should switch to a different option or just pay a professional.

Good software product.

TurboTax Premier - Desktop stepped me through all the needed reporting topics, with lookup help available. One problem was with the 1099-R form, line 1 entry, where one of my statements has a zero value. TurboTax flagged the $0 entry as an error and would not allow the return to be electronically submitted. The TurboTax help advised to add a description note to explain the $0 entry. This did not make a difference with the error detection. I am not really confident that the AI chat help is a coherent dialog. User input must be very specific and exactly on topic to get a pointed response. Not the same as a live dialog with a customer support person. Rephrasing a question still gets the same reply.

Glitch City

A lot of glitches for tax year 2025. Multiple times the application would launch and then quit, not opening without restarting computer. Consistently attempted to add Canadian fund information even when indicating "no" to living anywhere outside of USA. In past versions, updates were frequent but this one had maybe one or 2 and then nothing (updates seemingly necessary, see above). Frustrating.

Things slipped a bit this year

The biggest problem for my tired old eyes was the lack of contrast on the radio buttons on the forms. White text on a light blue button was difficult to read. I suggest black on top of the light blue buttons. The other problem was that it would not let me pay my NC state taxes online. No matter what I did, I could not get past the payment page where you enter the routing and account numbers. All of that worked fine on the Federal return, but not for the State. More discussion of the new OBBBA deductions would have been nice. No info on the new senior deduction.
