1099R code G was apparently a problem in 2017 and still not made easy to do in 2026. Had to enter as if it was two forms in order to get the all ready taxed to show entered into a ROTH and another to show what went into the traditional IRA. This could and should have been made easier to use by now!

This is the first year I wasn't completely satisfied with Turbo Tax. I had to figure out on my own that I had o upgrade to Premier to get the feature I needed to file my taxes. Software works well with Win 11. I did have to contact support but I figured out the issue before they called back. They did call back sooner than promised.

I felt the Online version railroaded me. I wasn't allowed to choose what I wanted to work on. So I went with the Desktop version. But, the Desktop version will NOT let you download financial information from third parties if your copy of Windows 11 isn't activated. Thus, Turbo Tax forces you to pay for and activate Windows 11 if you want to use the Desktop verson. However this turned out to nullify my Desktop choice because Windows 11 just inserted the Cloud (One Drive) into my file paths without asking, In the end I might as well have been using the Online version.

I love Turbo Tax, and have been using the program for many years, but I'd like to see one change made. When I have a question or need help for example, where do I enter Union Dues, where do I enter unusual medical expenses, what if my wife died, which she did, can I sign for her, do I file as a single etc.?? I don't want to log-in online or be returned to the Turbo Tax website for an answer. I would like to see you install a pro-active data base where I can enter simple questions at the top of your program where it says "help" and receive an immediate or simple answer like a "directory" of some sort and not be redirected to the internet or back to your company's website.

Changing the look-and-feel of the product from last year to this year made it a little awkward for me, since I am used to a particular look-and-feel. I also could not find the non-cash charitable contribution valuation guide that was previously in the program.

I have used TT for many years w/o problems. This year I considered the online version, but I had some questions. I could not find any way to get answers to my questions except to sign up for tax advice which is not what I needed. I had questions about the online program/process itself. So I went with my normal download program. Entering my tax info was very good as it always has been. Federal efile was fine. State efile was a disaster. The state refused it for supposed driver's license errors four times. No matter what I tried it would not work. The problem was compounded by Turbo Tax. On going through the refile process, there was no way to use a different verification option which would have probably worked. The original process has a choice of options, but once I elected to use the DL option, I was never given an opportunity to try one of the others. I ended up filing by mail because the DL issue was not resolvable for whatever reason. I will be having second thoughts about next year.

You made things more difficult to accomplish this year. I mistakenly chose to import investment info and apparently it interpreted this that I wanted to do it for every investment. And I couldn't figure out how to go back and undo that choice. So to fill in one number (interest) for several small accounts, I had to fight with it to let me just put the number in. These were accounts that I couldn't import the info for because they weren't on the list of choices. Just seemed overly complicated this year. Then when I got to the end and tried to file my forms, it informed me that it couldn't because I needed to update it. Why on earth didn't it tell me that when I first started filling the information to file the forms so that I didn't have to go through that again?

Overall it went pretty smooth. One area that could use a bit more instructions was the following: When entering a 1099-R I got to this screen Titled: "Tell us which person may have qualified for a penalty exception". Since there was only one person I assumed I should select Continue, but that didn't display the exceptions. I finally figured out I needed to select the Edit pencil icon to see the Exceptions. I recommend something like: Click Edit to see the Exceptions.

I found this year's 2025 Premier version a big improvement over 2024's version. Navigation through it backwards and forwards was nearly faultless. It asked very good questions and had very good help explanations to keep me moving. I very much like the desktop downloadable software and DO NOT WANT the Online version TT is trying to push me too. I did not like the constant efforts to move me to the On Line version while downloading the desktop. It seemed like I had to decline that pushy option at least 6 times. Please keep the downloadable product and at competitive pricing. If you drop the desktop product, I will be forced to go to your competitors. Please do not push me away, I like your desktop product. Thank you.

Great product that I will continue to use and recommend. One suggestion would be to enable turbo tax to read previous year's return and enter info from that return where appropriate. For the 2025 return I had to manually open the previous year's return, search for some information, and manually enter it.
