Turbo Tax could be better

Seemed like a step down from last year. 1. Importing from Vanguard was too arduous. I have 7 1099's that had to be handle individually. There should be a multiple-import wizard so that I only have to enter data once and have TT fetch all 7 for me. 2. There were 3 "duplicate" 1099-R forms that somehow got created from my imports. I had to find them and delete them manually. The software should have identified them notified me. 3. There should be a menu item or other way to see a list of all imported data, plus a way to set/edit the title of each entry. I did see the list somewhere in the step-by-step and all 7 Vanguard imports had the exact same title. 4. There really should be a way to import pdf documents from the local machine. I can't believe I had to enter three 1099 forms manually. (I *think* that previous versions of TT did import from pdf.) 5. I was disappointed that I had to upgrade from Deluxe to Premier in order to import 1099-B forms. 6. You should have much better user help using AI. Right now every request for help just lists out some forum topics with some matching words. You should train an AI system on your software documentation and provide much more insightful responses to questions.

Minnesota Return Issues

Preparing the Minnesota return was difficult. Moved from a second home to a primary residence in mid-July. Second home was converted to a rental property. I couldn't record the points properly for the second home and had to file the MN return with a printed copy. Had to fill in the points by hand on line 12, Schedule M1SA, even though the total on line 14 did include the points. Also had to hand adjust the statement attached to properly show the two banks and amounts for the amortized points. TurboTax is good but some things can't seem to be handled.

The Input format is somewhat confusing

Well what can I say I have used Turbo Tax since 2006. It has always been easy until this year. I think that the accuracy is mostly good, I did not find any errors, though it would probably be hard for someone that did not have at least a working understanding of Tax code and Accounting to be certain that everything was right. I personally spreadsheet everything and then make sure that Turbo agrees.

Turbo Tax is terrible - full of errors!

This product disappoints. Forms that have had bugs for years have not been rectified. In a recent year I sold a house - a rental property. The "tax expert" told me to list the sales price and cost basis on the Schedule D "just like any other asset sale." This is the second time I set up Estimated Tax Payments only to have the program zero them out in the end. Terrible product!

Frustrating Problems with TurboTax

I bought the $60 tax advice option. The original person who called me setup a time to call me back, but she never called me back. I had to request another tax expert. That person called me and her computer wasn't working right. She had to go offline and restart her computer. It took about 20 minutes. When she got back she could only see portions of my computer screen. Frustrating.

TurboTax was almost awesome

Everything was great except that I did not notice that this year's versions of TurboTax would no longer work on Windows 10. So I had to move my tax info from my old computer to a brand new computer that I already purchased but had not configured which come with Windows 11 installed.

TurboTax good for price

I like TurboTax desktop. This year they advised I could do TurboTax online. Started it online but did not like. It was confusing to me. Went back and started and finished return on the Desktop format. Even the desktop format was more confusing this year. Just some of the questions were tricky and hard to understand. Didn't find it as easy this year as years past.

Frustrated with the 2025 TurboTax product

I have used Turbotax for many years. I found filing my taxes with your product extremely difficult this year as the returns that I originally created kept being marked as corrupted when I attempted to return to them. I eventually ended up filing my husband and my return using the on-line version of the program after several attempted using the desktop version. When I filled my son's return he never received confirmation of the returns being accepted or rejected by the federal and state tax authorities. I ended up refiling his return as we couldn't determine whether his returns had been accepted. This resulted in a double filing fee for his state taxes! I am very frustrated with this years product!

Like TurboTax (do NOT like the pressure to switch)

Overall, I really like TurboTax (I’ve used it for over 30 Years! [Wow is right]). But I specifically like the “Desktop” version (NOT the “Online” version). I say this because when I first updated my TurboTax this year (2026), I was asked to “convert” over to the Online version. I didn’t give the reason why (then) but will now. The “online” environment (and platform) has one MAJOR problem – It can “hacked.” (as you are REQUIRED to have your data [uploaded and stored] on YOUR corporate computer system). I am speaking as a Ph.D. (in Technology) – so I can say (with certainty) that ALL systems can be “Hacked.” So, with that, I will NEVER be interest in going to (and use) the “Online” version – unless Intuit and 100% GUARANTEE that their system will NEVER get (or be) hacked. This is, of course, absurd (as NO system is 100% untouchable). The ONLY way that I “may” consider the Online Platform is if your company would provide a 1 Million dollar guarantee (to all customers) in the event that your system is EVER hacked (no matter how “minor” [or major] it may happen). Meaning, that your company would give ALL customers an immediate one million dollars (per customer) if your systems are ever hacked (not piece mill). If you (Intuit) is stupid enough to give such an all encompassing (and immediate/no question [or excuses]) guarantee then let me know. I believe (from my expertise) that this would be a instant "win" (for me - and others), as I believe you will (eventually) have to pay out Billions of dollars. I'm patient enough to take that "Bet" ;-) Sincerely - Dr. C

Had software problem with schedule E Data from work page would not transfer to schedule. Spent to much time on phone while you all tried fix issue. Never fixed. Problem still exists and should be any easy software fix if someone would do it. Other than this better than last years
