I have used TurboTax for years and have liked its features and ease of use. However, there are two areas that need improvement. 1. TT needs to be clearer about handling multiple IRA RMD's especially when I choose to take of my required RMD's from one IRA which is permitted by Federal law. I don't feel confident that TT understands and account for all of my RMDs. 2. TT eliminated "Its Deductible" software which was a VERY helpful tool when preparing for Non-Cash charity contributions. PLEASE give us back "Its Deductible".

I've used TurboTax for many years and like it. This year, I missed checking the box indicating I had QCD form IRA to charity, and wasted a lot of time then figuring out how to enter that. The first couple help screens I tried were worthless, telling me to click on an item that would not come up without that box checked, but said nothing about going back and checking that box; but finally I entered the proper words and got the video of how to go back to that screen and select the box to do it. That video should come up whenever "QCD" is entered as part of any Help entry. A second issue: I had to upgrade to Premier because of a 1099B from my brokerage firm for $1.90. I could have entered it manually, but it wouldn't let me download any of the brokerage info until I paid $35 and upgraded to Premier, all because of a 1099B for $1.90 income.

What would be a nice addition is a feature for importing things like a .csv file or an Excel file for areas where were may be a lot of entries like donated items, etc. Also there were several imports from institutions that it then still asked me all kinds of questions on. That's why buy the product and do the import, so IT can handle that from. Not so I can spend hours searching through PDF files of the data it supposedly already imported.

The User Interface needs serious work and updates. It has gotten worse over time and it's clear there is very little UI testing. Examples of needed improvements include: 1) A user feedback on each page/screen 2) Multiple places where it doesn't retain the answers to questions (e.g. IRA info) if going back through a topic again. 3) Confusing import screens where it imported the same data twice (vs. asking if I wanted to replace the prior import).

I had to restart a new turbo tax file because the prompts were confusing. I had imported my 1099-DIV, 1099-B from Fidelity Investments. But one question was let's see how your 1099-xxx are. It went to a screen to import when I had already imported. So, because of this I imported again and now I had twice things and more than tripled my taxes to pay. The other choose was to skip the import or put in the name of the institution and import. It was like it lost my imports. When it say's let check your 1099-xxx. I think if you had imported that it should go to the page you get if you choose skip import. Another thing I found is my import worked but it still had one from my 2024 taxes. It had zero dollars but it was the same thing I already downloaded. Why was the old one from 2024 kept when I imported new 1099-xxx.

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and it hasn't let me down yet! It's always great with support and accurate! I love its compatibility with so many outside sources so I can download items instead of having to type them in every time. Overall with Turbo Tax features and interface capabilities it saves me a lot of extra work so yes I love it.

Difficult and confusing at first about adding investment sources. Initially the steps were unclear. Once I determined the method, it was cumbersome because each time I want to add an investment source, TurboTax cycled through the step where I supposedly could find the investment source by using drop down menu. Waste of time, I just entered each investment source on my own.

This last version of Turbo Tax has an issue with me leaving the data on one spot open from my 1099R forms specifically from box 16 of the 1099R form. Box 16 on 1099R forms are open therefore nothing to enter and Turbo Tax is does not except that there is nothing to enter. Looked up on your help line and multiple responses stated enter line 1 or 2 from your 1099R forms and it worked and the software was happy. But why did I have to trick you software. This is not right.

I've used TurboTax for decades and never had an issue or an audited tax return. TTax makes it easy to enter an honest, complete return. When I lived in a state with state income tax, TTax made e-filing the state return simple and easy. I love that I can import complex tax information directly from my financial service.

Turbo tax used to have "it's deductible" which made summarizing no cash contributions straightforward. Now you have to click multiple times for every item. Turbo tax also used to provide an estimated tax for the next year from your previous year's taxes. Now you have to manually enter the information you already entered for your taxes in the w-4 form calculator. Turbo tax used to have understandable help and descriptions for items you are working on. Now they generally copy the incomprehensible IRS documentation and make you pay extra for live expert advice.
