This year everything went as planned (desktop version) until a glitch occurred regarding itemized deductions versus standard deduction. The step by step interface defaulted to standard even though it was obviously better to itemize and then wouldn't let me manually switch. The step by step interface finally showed the correct refund amounts but still showed that I chose standard deductions. Checking the forms showed itemized correctly. Minus one star for this error.

Fr the most part using Turbo Tax is pretty easy. Non cash Charitable. This year I had a lot of non cash deductions was not the easiest. With Multiple items going to the same charity, Why due you have to enter the date for each item. It would be easier to enter the date once and that should be all that is need for all items donated on that date. If you have several dates of donations one enter for each date should be all that is needed. On medical deductions it would be nice to see each section prior to entering. I found myself going back and forth because what each category wasn't real clear until you get further into the section. Overall I'm pleased with Turbo Tax.

The program crashed and I lost all my data near the end of completing the return; had to re-enter everything a second time. Called technical support and, other than wasting another hour on the phone, nothing was accomplished except for increased frustration.

I've used TurboTax for over 20 years to file my federal and state tax returns. I use the Premier version of the program because I invest in stocks, and the reporting requirements would be utterly impossible without assistance. I import my tax forms from my stockbroker into TurboTax, and that nightmare vanishes. Plus, I can choose whether to complete the federal and state returns through a guided interview or just the forms I need.

The software is user friendly and adds explanations along the way if you have questions. There was one little glitch this year that happened on both of the tax returns I prepared that were itemized. The step-by-step screen was insisting I enter information on a Canadian pension custodian - even though I live in the U.S. and my work-life/pension has nothing to do with Canada. I couldn't move forward without entering information. I think I finally got out of it by going back and then going forward again.

It seems ever since Turbo Tax went to "download only" program, it does not work as well. Will not import from financial institutions which is extremely annoying. Constantly telling me I am not online. I have to try numerous times to login in to my account. I paid for the state return. When I was directed back to the e-file page, I was told that I had not paid. I had to log out and log back in. This program seems to have tons of bugs. I hope they are working on it!

Unfortunately, this year I did not have a great experience using Turbo Tax as I had to make another purchase to pay for tax expert assistance because the program was not user friendly this year. I have been using Turbo Tax for over a decade, and this was the most challenging experience that I have ever had. Thankfully my tax expert person (Zenny P) was very helpful in getting me through the difficulties that I encountered. Thanks to Ms. Zenny P. I know that Turbo Tax is trying to improve or enhance their program, but it appears in improving it, it is making it more challenging for the novice user such as myself.

I bought Turbo tax out right I wanted it on my PC, it was very difficult to download and to avoid any of the other options, I'd make easy to buy the software and get it on the filers PC The person that helped me download the software was very competent and patience

i have several accounts with my financial institution. Turbo Tax (TT) works well in downloading them. However, I can find no way to easily distinguish between them; they all show up as "name of institution." Several years ago, I was able to add the last four numbers of the account to that title, but that no longer seems to be possible. Also (although it's a nit) on the download from financial institutions page, TT shows logos from various companies. Among them was the logo of Wells Fargo Advisors. But when I tried to download, the two options for Wells Fargo was the bank and "Wells Fargo Clearing Services." I finally figured out that "WF Clearing Services" was "WF Advisors," but it was frustrating and took time. I really miss "It's Deductible," which was a simpler format than that used when entering items into TT. Also, without Its Deductible, I no longer have an easily entered way to keep track of items for the current year. That said, I have been using TT for over 20 years and expect to continue doing so.

I have been a Turbo Tax customer for many years and have enjoyed and appreciated the function and accurate software. But this year Turbo Tax should have stopped me with a warning that I could not receive a paper check for my Federal return refund. I have just received a letter from the IRS stating that my bank account info had to be updated within 30 days pursuant to Executive Order 14247 "no paper checks". It would have been better to know and easier when filing. Disappointed..
