Much smaller size pie. Crust has changed to cookie crumb sicky sweet. Filling has almost no chocolate flavor. Can't even compare to past years! So disappointed! Will never buy again.

I purchased the French silk pie a few years ago and it was extremely good. Looked for it now and then to purchase again and they never seemed to have it so I was excited to see this "Chocolate Silk" pie yesterday. I thought it was the same pie. It's not. The French Silk pie had a traditional pie crust, the filling was a smooth and fluffy chocolate mousse that was almost too rich and the whipped cream topping tasted like whipped cream. This pie has a chocolate crust which is so disgusting I had to spit it out! Tasted like burnt asphalt is the only way I can describe it. So I tried the filling and topping alone and unfortunately it was not any better. Zero choclate flavor. Bizarre gummy almost slimy texture. No doubt that there is no real food in this chemical mess they're trying to pass off as a pie.

I was hoping the filling had a mousse-type filling. The filling was more of a pudding filling. The whip topping has a funny taste. Definitely not a replacement for Marie Calendar's. Not the worst I've had. I still ate the whole pie, but won't buy again.

I have purchased this pie several times over the years, so I was looking forward to getting it again. What I received was the worst tasting pie I have ever had. It was not even close to the pie they sold in the past. It has a heavy chemical small and taste, like someone fumigated it. It is not the same texture as in the past. It is simply not the same pie, but being sold as though it is. I a SO DISAPPOINTED. I cannot imagine what they did or why they changed the recipe. I want a refund, but I cannot get it back to the store at this time. So, it will just end up in the trash. This seems to be connected to the location because other reviews seem to indicate that people got the pie I thought I was getting.

Terrible! Our family was looking forward to the return of this pie. We were disappointed that the whole flavor, crust, texture, and size (smaller) had changed! We all took one bite and tossed it. Will not buy this version again. Yuck! If you had the previous version - you'd know why repeat customers are giving it poor ratings. Imo - it's not even mediocre worth buying again.

The excellent traditional crust pie they have had for years that sold great has changed to cookie crust krap that only my kids under age 10 think is decent. The filling used to be chocolatey, thick, and rich but is goopy now ewww. The traditional crust and old filling were the best please fix it back or offer both.

Pie has changed. Not the same as years past. Chocolate cookie base is too much. White topping is not light and fluffy. It's tuff almost dry out tasting. Very sad about this pie. I actually through it in the garbage! I've never done that to a pie ever. Sam's go back to your old recipe Don't buy

The pie has changed from previous years. I'm really disappointed in this new version and I know a lot of people agree. When it first came out I was able to sample some and the after taste that the new crust has is very unsettling. I definitely agree that it has a chemical after taste, or should I say, artifical and unpleasant? My dad's favorite pie is the French Silk and I wasnt able to make him one from scratch, so I decided to buy this new version and another from a competitor just in case. Still disappointed in this pie, no one complained about it but, no one had anything very good to say either. The chocolate did start oozing everywhere as soon as the pie was cut. It's also 2 inches smaller now but the same price. Don't fix something that isn't broken. I hope they bring back the old French silk next year instead of this.

I'd give it zero stars if I could. Nasty - primarily whip cream...literally 3/4 whip cream to 1/4 chocolate pudding. The whip cream had a chemical taste and although it had been in the fridge all day, didnt feel cool Hard pass - please do not waste your money. We took a couple bites then dumped the entire thing in the garbage.

Sadly, not the same. there's much less filling and the new pie crust is pretty horrible. I used to buy this pie every time I went to Sam's club and it was available. After last time, I do not think I will be purchasing this again unless they go back to the old crust and fill the pie properly. very very sad...
