Tries to upsell you on every screen

Tired of your software (trying) to nickel and dime me on every screen. Also I used to web version for the past 3 years but it was cheaper to buy the desktop version from ANY SELLER than to use your online version again. Thanks for trying to charge the max amount you could for returning customers

Turbo Tax Makes My Life Better

I have been using Turbo Tax Home and Business for over a decade. I find it easy to use, straightforward, and accurate. I have saved a fortune in accountant charges and I learn so much in the process. I feel like I'm more in touch with my business income and expenses, I like to see the figures for myself. I use a MacBook Pro and so far the software is still compatible. It's a 2020 version. I hoping it'll still be compatible next year. Fingers crossed.

Turbo Tax - Request AI feature

I really hope that by next year, the integration of AI will allow me to simply place all my PDF documents into a single folder so that TurboTax can automatically populate the data and file my return. I found myself relying on Google Gemini quite a bit this year for assistance instead of using the built in TurboTax help features, and I am definitely looking for a much smoother reporting process next season. The most frustrating part of the current system is the manual entry required for RSU stocks. Even for tiny amounts like 0.012 shares or a single dollar in earnings, I still had to manually type in every single line item.

Program is getting worse and more expensive.

The program is less flexible than last year and brings in numbers and information from who knows where. I tried to edit these things but cannot find the source anymore. Additionally, the help feature stinks. Before it was nice to hit the F1 key when on a field and get some help text but now that feature has been eliminated. Furtherore, any help requires you be connected to the internet. Bad Bad Bad. Its gotten to the point that I feel I have to buy the Audit Defense to feel safe because I don't trust what the program is doing or some of the things it does. I'm stuck with it because of carryback and carryforeward information that I have no ideal where its getting it from outside of the previous years use.

Depreciation / Administrator / Credits / Calculate

Some features are not visible unless I run the program as administrator. Depreciation is difficult for me which is part of the reason why I use Turbo Tax, I had to pull the data myself from 2024 taxes which TT has done for me in the past, I also had to figure my own calculations - TT did not do that for me either. Also had to force the American Opportunity credit - TT would not add it even though I qualified for it.

Problems with updates on TT yet again

As I hit the final key to enter my taxes TT asked for an update. However hard I tried I could not proceed. In the end I turned off my computer and when it rebooted TT updated. I also tried to use TT electronic version but it could not upload the .25tax file from my desktop.

TurboTax is awesome and saves hours

This is about my 30th year with TurboTax and your software is accurate and user friendly. Your print selection is functional but could use more features like an easy way to print draft pages as you're working on them. It makes reporting to the IRS and Georgia Dept of Revenue very easy due to the great interfaces.

Live Tax Advice Is A Great Service!

I wish there was a capability in TurboTax EasyStep where I could ask the system to take me to the location in t rcess where I entered certain data--like my IRA Contribution and it would take me to the appropriate screen via Personal/Deductions & Credits and the field where I could add or change that value. I did use Live Tax Advice and they were excellent helpers. I made 4 calls to 3 different Advisors--they were all very professional and very knowledgeable to help me to quickly resolve my questions.

TurboTax is too quiet when it needs to speak up!

When the return gets more difficult, too often TurboTax gets "quiet". That is, it either asks the customer to do more to help TurboTax or has new screens that, for the most part, do not have those helpful hyperlinks to explain things. Also, particularly egregious in my opinion, it for the first time showed me that I had a fee/interest on the printout on the cover page. No clue before that! And, could I find out why, what it was all about, how it was calculated, etc.??? NO! I had to do some research outside of TurboTax to see various chatter on the topic. So, it was about Form 2210. But could I find Form 2210 in my FULL list of forms?? NO. I had to dig in, find how I could 'challenge' the fee via TurboTax, annualized my data/input, etc. That let me lower it and finally see the Form 2210.

Barely adequate so you have to pay for advice

The interface looked like you started to make some changes from past versions but didn't finish. The interface always overfills my screen so that I have to scroll down to click on the continue button. There were federal questions that I was asked and TT gave no help in what I was supposed to answer, 1250 depreciation comes to mind as one, I couldn't find any help anywhere and wasn't going to pay extra to try and ask a TT Expert. I upgraded to Business after starting in Premier and had to scrap that file because I couldn't find how to enter information for an installment sale of my residence and TT wasn't guiding me. TT only guides a short distance then I had to select the things to work on. Not a very good guide.
