2025 Turbo Tax Desktop Activation Glitch

I purchased the 2025 Home and Business Win desktop version from Intuit only to need serious technical support. The activation code did not match the product I purchased. I've been an Intuit customer for more than 20 years and until now I had always purchased the CD version. This is the first time in 20 years that I have been disappointed.

Trust but verify.

I have used TurboTax for years. I think it's a good tax program, but I haven't tried any of the other tax software out there. The only real problem I see is if you don't understand income taxes, you could enter information in the wrong places. And charging $60 for live tax advice?! The program checks and reviews your entries anyway.

Desktop Version too difficult to find

Really dislike the non straightforward way to determine how much the desktop version of Turbo Tax Home and Business version was. Very difficult. Not everyone wants to do their taxes on line nor need help. I have used Turbo Tax for probably 20 years and may be looking for another software in the future if you keep this up. Other than that one complaint, I have always loved working with Turbo Tax.

Too many steps when Turbotax takes control

The inputs were easier to use this year than last year's version. However - as it seems every year there is an input where if you make an input you cannot remove or edit it. This would be on schedule K-1 line 17 code. If the s corporation has a loss - you should be able to input 0 or leave it blank. The application will not allow it.

Programming Errors led to lots of time wasted

I've used Turbo Tax for almost 20 years and this year it did not work as intended; luckily my experience with filn taxes and with how their software has worked in the past I was able to navigate through but countless days and hours were wasted attempting to do so.

Turbo Tax has its issues

The compatibility of filing choices and payment options are cumbersome. It does not allow you to access prior year return to verify prior year AGI. It only allows for the current year information. This makes it difficult to complete the return and efile.

Desktop version OK but the online version is risky

Two years in a row the return was incorrect, fortunately both in my favor. For 2025 the dialog completely skipped over the estimated tax payment section (a pretty massive error). Since you don't get to see the forms until you've already prepared the whole package, by then any error is hard to pick out. For the past 3 years there have been issues with the online version that required tech support and again going into the forms which you cannot do in the online version. Going forward I will only be using the desktop version.

Flaw in software with respect to Missouri Form 60

I cannot give TurboTax five stars this year, because there was a problem with respect to populating the MO-1040 form with taxes paid with a MO-60 extension form. I could not for the life of me figure out how to do it, as it wouldn't even let me fill it in on the actual form when I couldn't find it on Easy Step. It would let me fill in "estimated taxes" but it would not let me fill in an amount paid with an extension. It's a serious flaw, and I just had to amend the PDF for filing on paper. If I had wanted to file it electronically, I would not have been able to do it.

Turbo Tax is Good - Prone to Some Errors Still

I uploaded my 2024 returns to start my 2025 returns and found that turbo tax entered information regarding my 2024 health savings account showing that I deposited double the amount of money in my health savings account, which was incorrect. I was not able to find and remove the error immediately which caused me to file an extension.

Importing 1099 from the bank is a pain!

the 1099 imports failed many times and it took days before I could tune the security from internet, browser and local permission. it would post security risk if I forget which control to revert back after finishing imports too. Why you can not simply implementing import 1099 from the files downloaded directly from the bank to local?
