Awesome unit I bought during the Christmas sale. Battery life is better than most other handheld consoles, quality of the product seems nice, and the screen size is perfect. This unit is designed by asus so it doubles as a computer. Looks exactly like a windows desktop and then switches over to Xbox. You can play Xbox, steam, and pc games. Overall super happy with the ROG ally.

Has lots of potential
I’ve been a fan of Xbox for many years and am glad to seem them getting into gaming handhelds now. I was really looking forward to owning an Xbox Ally. The device is not heavy, comfortable to hold, and is very nice looking. Unfortunately, it’s just not for me. If you really want to get into PC gaming I think it’s a great intro way in especially for a handheld device. However, a lot of the games that I was looking forward to playing are not compatible with handheld devices yet even those which are on the 3-month Xbox game pass premium that comes with the device. Furthermore, some of the bigger game titles require a lot of space and 512 GBs is not really enough when this also includes all the updates, and everything that comes with Windows 11. With that said, cloud gaming works great, and this has been my go to for all my gaming so I don’t use a lot of storage space installing. It’s also very convenient to download games from Steam because a lot of them are compatible with the Xbox controller which also includes the Xbox Ally. I just didn’t think it was worth using it only for cloud gaming with the price I paid for, and I don’t play a lot of Steam games like I do Xbox games. I do see it as being very convenient to use anywhere, and perfect for traveling. But that’s about it. I ended up returning mines because I don’t see myself using it more than a couple months to a year especially for only cloud gaming. Last, if I really wanted to stick with handheld PC gaming, I would choose the Xbox Ally over a Steam Deck since you can access both Steam, Xbox, and other gaming stores on the Ally.

Yes, there's more powerful handheld gaming PC, besides even just the X variant %26 yes, I've have/had them, however if you're looking for something affordable, that acts almost like the Steam Deck, with it's streamlined experience, but with Windows %26 it's better game title compatibility, as well as it's superior productivity abilities vs that of Steam OS, then this is the one to get. Yeah, it could have been $50 cheaper, I'd agree, but it is what it is.

I was very excited for this really cool "looking" pc handheld. I ACTUALLY had low expectetations, comapring potentially a steam deck for pricing. Though, the Steam Deck OUTPERFORMS this device and this value per dollar is just absolutely not there. Do yourself a favor and save up just a little bit more money for a decent laptop. The battery only lasts about an hour and a half on performance mode. Thats pretty bad especially since thats not even at full power.

This Xbox PC/Console Handheld is excellent. You will update Asus and Windows software before use. Xbox Play Anywhere games will automatically sync your console gaming data and allow you to download the game and play it directly from the handheld. The streaming of games is SO good. I have played competitive online games like Gears and MK11 with no lag at all using my phone hotspot and home wifi. I received the JSaux 4K 120hz dock today and this base white Xbox Ally with the Z2A chip runs games like Forza Motorsport 7 at 4K 120hz better than my Series S on a 55-inch OLED tv with HDMI 2.1. At $400 cheaper than the Xbox Ally X, streaming newer, demanding titles and downloading less demanding play anywhere titles run like an Xbox One X with a JSaux (or any good) dock. Excellent device.

People would buy to be able to play there Xbox games like they would on the Xbox but they tried to hard to make it more like a pc than a handheld gaming system and it's to hard to play a game on it, not worth the value. Also a lot of the games are not compatible with it. It cost more than a xbox and does less crazy.
