I have to say, I love neutrogena. I usually use the healthy skin boosters cleanser and scrubs (my staple for the past 4 years). I decided to get the new hydro boost exfoliating cleanser and hydro boost cleansing gel for the winter since my skin is extra dry in the winter. I got it on Sunday, today is Wednesday and my face looks TERRIBLE! I look like I'm sick. For the past 2 days I've been itchy and scratching my face, especially around the mouth area. I dnt have any known allergies but I am disappointed in this product. I can't believe it!I love this company and stick to only neutrogena's products for my face but I don't know what to do besides throwing these 2 products away. I bought the hydro boost gel a week prior to buying the cleanser and exfoliater and had no issue until I started using the rest of the line. *I have never had any acne issues or black heads, only dry skin. I stopped using the healthy skin booster for a week just to test these 2 products. *

I purchased this today. Was looking for a physical exfoliating cleanser to use once a week. I already use a chemical exfoliant with 5% glycolic acid in it once a week. I did notice that there is glycolic acid in the ingredients and the label does have an AHA warning on the back. Immediately after using this cleanser my face was burning. I’m curious to know what the percentage of glycolic acid is in this product. Also am curious what the “natural” exfoliant in this product is. It felt like rubbing my face with micro sand. I am not sure why you would put a chemical exfoliant in with such an abrasive physical exfoliant. I rinsed with lukewarm water and used a gentle moisturizer and rosehip seed oil on my face afterwards. It’s been a few hours after washing my face and I still feel like my skin has been burned and feels like I have microcuts all over. Will be returning. I would suggest if you are going to put AHA in anything you should at least say what the percentage is to avoid people who have never used AHA before from burning their skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked this product. I didn't seem to dry my skin out, which is a plus. I have only used for a couple of days so far, but the results are okay. I haven't broke out from using, thus far. I like this brand a lot.

I have used this product twice just because I wanted to make sure it was this product that was causing such extreme irritation to my skin and not something else. The first time I used it I loved the results after the first day, but by day two my face was burning, itching, swollen, and dry. It took me about a week to get it back to normal. I’m an esthetician and luckily knew to cake on the Vaseline, and was able to have coworkers preform treatments to help relieve my skin. Giving the product the benefit of the doubt I have it a second try 2 weeks later after my skin had fully returned to normal, again, because I wanted to make certain that this is what caused my reaction. I used it again yesterday night before bed and upon waking the extreme itching was back followed by burning sensations. I’m sure by tomorrow it will be red and swollen. I am even itching severley on my breast where it ran down in the shower. Let me also say, being an esthetician I get lactic and glycolic chemical peels often as well as hyluaronic acid treatments and have never had an issue. I wish I would have never used this product again after the first time because here I am again extremely uncomfortable. Please re formulate this product or put a warning label, I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Neutrogena has always been one of my favorite skin care products and this will now be added to my list of products I like. It was not too rough but it felt like it got the dead skin scrubbed off. Very happy with this cleanser.

I was sure to wear sunscreen after using it,so I would recommend the same for others using this product, since that is included in the instructions. Overall, I would give Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser 2 thumbs up.

I recently bought seeing that includes papaya extract and glycol acid (both of are good exfoliators). When I used it, the base gel cleanser seemed very similar to other expensive exfoliators i have previously used. However, the micro beads are a bit to harsh for my skin. I was left red cheeks and one or two small pimples. Didn't dare use it a second time. Surely, would have been better without the micro beads.

My first time using Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser I noticed that it made my face feel really soft. All I had to do was add some water and lather my face to get all the oil, dirt and dry skin off my face. I liked how it was not harsh on my face and did no t leave my face red after I was done washing it off. after using it for a few days I could see that my face was brighter and felt a lot smoother. I would recommend this product to anyone who would like to get great looking skin.

First time i used this exfoliating and my face felt so clean, clean from make up, oil & the day. My question is with super oily skin what other products do you have that could help? I have to blot my face several times a day which takes off my makeup. Help please.
