Excellent machine. Somehow the machine puts out plenty of water. I was alittle worried about that but quickly realized there was an extraction only setting. The carpets were fully dry within 45 mins. Smell is clean and stains came out. Very pleased by this very easy to work machine. The only drawback is the tanks are small but for as well as it worked it didn’t mind at all.

Awesome! I’ve had many other brands and this by far is the BEST!! The dirty tank is small but I’ll take that over a shampooer that actually doesn’t clean like this one does! Stains…gone! I am in awwww!! Great job Shark!! Highly recommend!!!

Used the red rug machine in the past, several times and this is by far much more convenient. No more lugging the red one around from the store to the home and back. Personally I feel the shark cleans better than the red rug machine. The dirty water tank on the shark does fill up quicker but its easy to remove and dump out. The solution tank is smaller but its easy to refill. The dry mode is helpful with cutting down the rug drying time. All in all, we're happy with the results and convenience.

I've only used this carpet cleaner once so far, but it impressed me right away. It's not like the others I've tried—it actually lifts the dirt, refreshes the carpet, and leaves everything looking noticeably better. Easy to use, powerful, and does exactly what it promises. If it keeps performing like this, it'll be my go‑to from now on.

We cleaned about 350 square feet of carpet on its first use. Neither the assembly nor post-job cleaning procedures are intuitive; YouTube and the Shark site are big helps. The Shark is plenty powerful and does an outstanding job cleaning. The problem is that both water tanks are miniscule compared to other carpet cleaners. And once you really get going, they will never again run out at the same time. Be prepared for a lot of water changes on your way to much cleaner carpets.

This shampooer is powerful but has a few design flaws. The top feels very heavy compared to other machines with larger water tanks. The tank capacities are small and need constant filling of the clean water and dumping of the dirty water. The hair/debris trap in the dirty water tank is not removable, so that is a pain to clean and get all of the hair out of. The hair gets stuck between the trap and the tank. The clear brush roll covers flips forward but is not easily removable making that hard to clean. The hose gets knocked off the machine when shampooing close to anything on that side. It is nice that it will rinse the attachment and hose, but it still needs to be removed and cleaned after. The hose is hard to fully seat on the back. I think that should be removed after use so that it can dry and not build an odor. It does have a lot of suction power and even pulls sand up out of the carpet that was left behind by a Kirby vacuum. I just expected a better thought-out design from Shark.

I am a little disappointed with the suction power of the carpet cleaner. It leaves carpets pretty wet. You have no control of how wet it gets because the cleaner controls the flow. It also goes through solution very fast. It does do a decent job at getting the carpet clean.

Small and heavy, required frequent emptying and refill, not good for any rooms of substantial size. Did not come with all parts stated on box, missing dirty water filter. If you are a pet owner it does leave clums of hair and hair does get clumpped in rollers.

The product description page lists the model number of the both the hair pro accessory version as well as the non hair pro version as model EX304. This is incorrect. The hairpro version is the EX304. The “without hairpro accessory” version is the Shark EX234. Another 1 star review mentioned this back in November of 2025. I write this on 1/10/26 and Sam’s Club still has not updated the description and specifications to accurately reflect the EX234.

Easy assembly. Used twice. The first time on an area rug. It seemed to clean well although not as much. Dirty water removed as I thought there should have been. The next day I used it on a low/medium pike carpet and the first go around with soap only a few tablespoons of dirty water returned. I cleaned the machine , there was a small amount of dog hair. Tried it again with water only and got even less dirty water returned than with soap! After this experience, I returned the machine and will look at other brands!
