Worth the money
I've always been a Shark fan—my last two vacuums were Sharks, and this one is a perfect upgrade. The suction is strong (it almost pulls you when you turn it on), and it's great on plush carpet as well as wood floors thanks to the multiple floor-height settings, including the sensor mode. I love the slim design for getting into tight spots and along baseboards, and the noise level is lower than expected for how powerful it is. It comes with all the standard attachments plus a special one for window blinds and ceiling fans. My favorite part is the rollers—especially with long hair, I just make sure to clean them after each use. Overall, it's a durable vacuum worth the money.
Disappoiting after previous model. not a true away
Disappointed - Previous Lift Away was a true Lift Away as you could detatch and use the power head. that was the ENTIRE pont of the feature. not with this new model. Suction is great but without an overide relief valve, even hard floor setting is too much for Ruggable type two-piece rugs
Hi there, Thank you for your feedback on the Detect Pro. We’re sorry to hear the Lift-Away feature didn’t meet your expectations. We’re glad the suction is working well, though we can see how it may be too strong for lighter rugs. Using the lowest suction setting and slightly reducing contact with the rug can sometimes help. If you’d like more help with setup or tips for your flooring, our team is here: https://support.sharkninja.com/contact-us Sincerely, Shark Home
Great choice
I bought this two months ago. It took a while to grow on me as I didn't like that it was so different from my old shark vacuum. Now I absolutely love it! Small things make a big difference. The led lighting allows me to see pet hair and litter that is invisible under normal light. The way the vacuum head is designed allows you can clean right up against the wall. There are so many other great features as well. Really happy with this purchase.
GREAT company that stands by their products
Shark sent a replacement sweeper for our one-year-old Shark which had malfunctioned. Shark sent a new replacement, what a great company that stands by their products!
Roll brush
It's a great vacuum cleaner, but the roll brush doesn't hold up to twice a day vacuum cleaner as they come out of their slots. The brushes looks like I'm gonna need to buy a new head or try to replace the strips on the roll brush
Not for large dogs. Clogged in a month.
I have 6 dogs. Large ones. Was really excited to see the great reviews on this vacuum. Well I have owned it less than a month and the front roller is totally clogged up!! I dont put it on bare floors all the time to (hopefully) help with German Shepherd and Golden Retriever hair, but this failed miserably. :( I do vacuum every day. Have to, this is crazy. Now I am paying for a vacuum that doesnt do what I needed to do.
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re really unhappy to hear how disappointing your experience has been, especially after being excited to use the vacuum and relying on it to keep up with the amount of hair from your dogs. With larger breeds like German Shepherds and Golden Retrievers, we completely understand how important it is to have a vacuum that can handle heavy shedding, so this must be incredibly frustrating for you. We’d really like the chance to help get this resolved for you so your vacuum can perform the way you need it to. Please reviewing the troubleshooting steps in our support guide, which walks through common causes and solutions. If the issue continues after trying these steps, our customer support team would be happy to assist further and explore available options with you. https://support.sharkninja.com/article/LA800-Series-Shark-DetectPro-Lift-Away-Upright-Vacuum---Troubleshooting-Guide?redirect=false Kind regards, Shark Home
Shark Carpet feeding frenzy
Regretted this purchase within days. On carpet or large area rugs anchored by furniture it's ok. Not great but ok. Unless there's a setting I haven't found yet, it's impossible to vacuum smaller rugs without it trying to pull the rug into the roller. You can use the hard floor mode but then you lose the roller/beater option to better clean the rug. It doesn't fit well under furniture unless you're willing to give up the power nozzle. It doesn't pick up fine dust along the edges or hard floors.- not even with multiple passes. The liftoff canister is ok for vacuuming stairs but there's no power tools for carpeted stairs. My last vacuum had a smaller power roller brush like a pet hair attachment - this one does not. Also the motor/canister area gets so hot it partially melted the crevice tool and warped it so it doesn't fit smoothly. The power cord is insanely short so expect to have to unplug and plug it in elsewhere to finish a decent sized room (like a master bedroom). And finally if there is ANYTHING on the floor like even a pair of shoes, it will lift up over the sole and try to vacuum up the shoe. This product was clearly QA'd in an empty 10x10 room with only clumps of dirt by a person who'd never operated a vacuum before.
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. We’re really sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve experienced, from trouble cleaning smaller rugs and edges to maneuverability around furniture and everyday items. We understand how frustrating this has been, especially when the vacuum isn’t performing as expected in a lived‑in home. For smaller rugs and bare floors, try using the Hard Floor setting. This provides maximum suction while slowing the brushroll, which can help prevent rugs from being pulled into the roller. too loud and bogs down like a Dyson
I used to sharpen Apex for The Last 5 Years and the powerhead on it went bad of course sharp never has parts to fix their vacuum cleaners because they just want to sell you another one okay I accepted that I've dealt with Dyson they suck they get on carpet and they just get bogged down you got to turn it off pull it backwards this one this detect Pro that I bought does that sum and I don't really like to detect part cuz when I use that then I'll get into my vacuum cleaner sometimes it'll start shaking and kind of jumping a little bit my simple Apex was good NOT REALLY HAPPY WITH IT MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE WENT WITH STRATOS DUOROLL
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re sorry to hear that the Detect Pro hasn’t met your expectations, especially after your positive experience with your previous Apex model. We understand how disappointing it is when performance doesn’t feel consistent, particularly with issues like the vacuum struggling on carpet or the head shaking during use. Your feedback is important to us and we will being sharing it with our teams internally. This isn’t the experience we want for you, and we’d like to help improve it. I Love Shark vacuums and with 2 goldens I NEED a great vacuum. Although I love this vacuum the design flaw is that it should lift away like the stratos (which I had prior to this vacuum) so that you can easily get under furniture. I honestly thought it did which is why I bought this one instead of another stratos but that was my fault for not researching better.
Not for owners of dogs that shed
I am super disappointed in this vacuum. I have two German Shepards and this vacuum just can’t seem to handle their hair. I do not have any carpet in my home, only hard flooring, and the vacuum continues to get jammed and hair gets built up and stuck in the roller. I have to take it apart often to keep that area clear. The chord on the vacuum is also way too short. I’ve always had Dysons and wanted to give Shark a try, but I feel like I’ve made a mistake.
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Your experience hasn’t reflected the high standard of service we aim to provide, and we want to make things right.
