[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this fabric softener is WONDERFUL! I have very sensitive skin so I like the fact that this has no dyes or perfumes. I like to air dry most of my clothes and Ultra Downey allows me to do this and still have very soft clothes. I have used this fabric softener mostly on jeans and cotton shirts and sweaters. The results have been great. The colors stay the same without fading. I would definitely us it again.

I bought this product because I have asthma and perfumes bother me. But the smell on my clothes after I Used this product was such a bad, strong smell. I actually had to throw them away. What a waste of money. I smelled the bottle afterward and my husband did to and the smell was horrible. May not have perfume but has something worse (pungent smell).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, I really like the fact that Downy Free & Gentle has no added dyes or scents, I really think they are unnecessary. I've been using detergents without those additives, and now there is a fabric softener that does the same thing! Hooray! I've actually stayed away from fabric softeners recently because they have way too much scent. I've used it on about 5 loads so far, underwear, towels, dress shirts, pants. They all seem to have come out in better shape than I expected. Can't wait to use it on more fabrics and items - wondering if using it on my throw rugs will help them stay clean longer, as fabric softeners tend to make them seem like they get dirtier sooner. The other problem I've had with liquid fabric softeners is that while they make the clothes soft and fluffy, there is also a bit of a heaviness to them, like they've absorbed the softener into the fabric. But Downey Free & Gentle seems different. the clothes are soft. They are fluffy. But there is nothing that seems heavy, which is really nice.

With so many different options in the market targeted specifically for your little one, it is easy to be sold on them. Downy free and gentle really does the job for all clothes, but I loved it even more for my baby's clothing. His soft gentle skin needs a match for it, and this product is the one you can trust for your baby. Also my professional work attire, I noticed less wrinkles, with less fade. Being that my work attire can be expensive at times, using this product will keep my clothing going for longer!

I love Downy Free! I've been waiting YEARS for a frangrance free softener. About 15 years ago someone said I had a distinct scent, a mixture of "April Fresh" and "Bal a' Versailles" (my favorite perfume). Well, these two scents DO NOT belong together. I want my perfume to be the scent for which I am remembered, not my clothes. I was THRILLED to see Downy Free at my local WalMart about 2 months ago. My clothes FEEL so much better against my skin and are considerably easier to iron. After 15 years of washing without a fabric softener I'm happily back on the Downy. THANK YOU to the manufacturers of Downy Free.

So, when I tried this softener, I used it on a load of towels. The towels felt softer than usual, and it seemed to help remove all that excess lint as well. I was surprised by the effects of this softener and am glad my favorite brand offers something for allergy sufferers. My husband has eczema and was unable to use most soap and softeners. He has no complaints and it has helped reduce his itchy eczema patches on his arms. Thanks Downy.

I’ve never been able to use fabric conditioner on our bedding because it would have him itching all night. I was able to convince him to give this a chance and I am thrilled to report no itching! I love that there is no overwhelming scent that is often associated with other “fabric softeners,” just fresh and clean. And as an added bonus, the static is our bedding is also gone. No more midnight lightning show! This works perfectly for us! Soft bedding with no overwhelming scent, no itching, and static free!

I like this fabric softener because its smell is not too much strong. It brings me a feeling of comfort. It really softens our clothes, especially sweaters or fur coats as you can truly feel it when you touch the clothes. A minus point is the fragrance doesn’t last long.

I am allergic to odors, and have had a terrible time all my life with odors, until I came across Downy Free, and I have been using it for a long time, and I love it!! Makes life so much easier to live, and my family says I am easier to live with too!!

Really really, really disappointed in this product...Did I say I was really disappointed. I got it home and it poured out in clumps, tried shaking it and still in clumps, feels more like lotion and has a faint paint smell to it! Throwing it away. Thanks Downy, I don't have the money to throw away like this, have always loved your products, til now!
