Im so glad there is finally a softner that has no dyes or fragrance in it that i can use for my babies clothes. It works awesome . My sons clothes come out so soft and static free. I love it. I would definitely recommend to others and buy in future.

We had to switch to FREE detergents after finding out my daughter has bad eczema. Out doctor told us to start washing all of our clothes, towels, sheets and everything else with Free detergent and we do not want to go back since we have made the switch!

Downy fabric softeners stain your clothes with blue greasy spots. I went through so many good clothes at multiple laundromats before I figured out that the stains were coming from the fabric softener. BE WARNED. If you don't want to have random blue greasy spots on your clothes, don't use this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, I really like the fact that Downy Free & Gentle has no added dyes or scents, I really think they are unnecessary. I've been using detergents without those additives, and now there is a fabric softener that does the same thing! Hooray! I've actually stayed away from fabric softeners recently because they have way too much scent. I've used it on about 5 loads so far, underwear, towels, dress shirts, pants. They all seem to have come out in better shape than I expected. Can't wait to use it on more fabrics and items - wondering if using it on my throw rugs will help them stay clean longer, as fabric softeners tend to make them seem like they get dirtier sooner. The other problem I've had with liquid fabric softeners is that while they make the clothes soft and fluffy, there is also a bit of a heaviness to them, like they've absorbed the softener into the fabric. But Downey Free & Gentle seems different. the clothes are soft. They are fluffy. But there is nothing that seems heavy, which is really nice.

I've tried other "scent free" detergents that get rid of the itch but the clothes don't smell clean. But this product leaves clothes itch free AND smells clean without being scented!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried many fabric conditioners in the past but this one is the best so far. As it claims, it is as gentle as it can get. What is most important is that the product is free of dyes and perfumes which can be a concern for many. Most of the products out there today contains significant amounts of perfumes and dyes which may ruin clothes and for those who are sensitive, perfumes can be irritating. Moreover, it claims to be dermatologist tested so what more can you ask for? I have been using this product to wash my delicate clothing and white colored shirts which has served me very well. I love it so much I've been bragging about it to my parents and family members so they would also give it a try. Overall, great product and definitely would purchase again.

I am used to using dryer sheets for softness and I have been getting disappointed with the fragrances that come with the sheets I am using. I tried a bottle of Downy Free and Gentle liquid on last week's laundry and I was enthused with the results. I used it on both the whites with hot water, the colors load with cold water as the cat blankets too. The clothes all came out soft to the touch and the clothes smelled fresh like they just came from the store where I bought them. What a change that is for me and my clothes. I have a daughter who needs fragrance free laundry products because of her skin condition. I think I will buy her a bottle too to see if that is a nice change for her. I enjoy the change in the smell without the loss of soft clothes from the dryer. I will say that the liquid version is difficult with my washer because the bottle does not easily pour into the slot on the machine. Perhaps a smaller neck elongated would fix this minor problem.

Not only does it have no fragrance (something that is so bad on other types, I can't even do yard work when the neighbors are doing their laundry), but it works very well. The price is reasonable, and a little goes a long way. Another benefit is that it doesn't glonk up my machine, and there is no noticeable residue on my clothes with regular use. I always use the Downy ball to dispense it, and the combo works reliably every time. I've been using Downy Free & Gentle for years and expect to continue using it for many more.

However I was skeptical about the free and clear part because I like the fresh scents that Downy puts out. This still does have a very subtle refreshing sent to it. This makes me very worried free to put my granddaughter's clothes in here when she has an accident or gets food all over her shirts. My towels are very fluffy my clothes come out D wrinkled. I highly recommend this product and will be buying it in my future.
