This product delivers the same fabulous softness that you get with regular Downy softeners without the dyes, fragrances, etc. My daughter's clothes came out feeling very clean and very soft and I felt confident that her skin would not be irritated. I'm very happy that Downy decided to release this product and will continue to purchase and use it.

It truly is unscented and dye free, but still provides the same freshness and softening power I've come to expect from my previous use of Downy products. The clothes I used with this product were static free and just as soft as I'd expect from scented Downy softeners.

I’ve never been able to use fabric conditioner on our bedding because it would have him itching all night. I was able to convince him to give this a chance and I am thrilled to report no itching! I love that there is no overwhelming scent that is often associated with other “fabric softeners,” just fresh and clean. And as an added bonus, the static is our bedding is also gone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to test Downy Free and Gentle on laundry day. With two loads to do, in the first I didn't use the product. In the second, I did. The first load was normal - fine, but nothing special. The second load with Downy Free and Gentle had a noticeable difference - it was so much softer, and even though the product is unscented, it felt like it smelled fresher. The laundry felt cleaner and simply looked nicer. I was extremely happy with the way in which the laundry felt and considered re-washing the first load to use the product as well!

Downy fabric softeners stain your clothes with blue greasy spots. I went through so many good clothes at multiple laundromats before I figured out that the stains were coming from the fabric softener. BE WARNED. If you don't want to have random blue greasy spots on your clothes, don't use this product.

We've a new bottle that upon opening was also in a gel form. Today I called the 1-800 number given here and which is also the bottle. Instead of getting to their service department i had to sit through a plug for some emergency medical alert device. When I told the lady I wasn't interested she continued to go over the reasons I should buy this service. Furious, I hung up.

Down fabric softener has been my go to for years. Delicate on fabric and a little goes a long way. I won’t wash bedding or towels without it, they just feel rough otherwise. My whites came out really soft, fluffy and there was not a hint of fragrance in my clothes. This is very important to my family because of skin allergies and asthma. My T-shirt’s were revitalized. The band was noticeably tighter around the neck. I had no struggle getting my grandson to keep his T-shirt on longer than normal. My color knit shirts came out really nice as well. I don’t think I’ll be sending them out to be laundered anymore.
