It definitely made my towels and clothes feel softer and while it’s not scented everything that I washed with it smelled really clean! I have very sensitive skin and it did not irritate me in any way! I will definitely purchase this to use in the future!

I was so excited to find a Free and clear softenerAt first it was thick but I thought I wouldn’t have to use as much, but then I noticed that it wasn’t dissolving in the designated slot in my washing machine. I then added a little water to mix it up and it still would not dissolve., building up to where I had to clean the slot every other day. Terrible product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually do not use fabric softener as I have extremely sensitive skin. I got this and immediately stuck my nose in!! I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of overpowering scent so I liberally poured it in as per the instructions on the bottle. For the first was I used it on a wool throw and some pillow cases, the throw can be a little stiff after it has been washed but this time it was buttery soft. I will be trying it next with my sheets....

I would like a downy without perfumes that isn't just unscented. There are many was to add a natural scents w/o adding perfumes. Aloe, lavender, citrus are just a few. It would be nice to see something like this come from a large company like downy. I would love to see a naturaly scented downy vs the new overloaded scented perfume beads.

I bought Downy scent free because of allergies, and you can not find another liquid that is scent free. Well its very disapointing; It has turned to cream rinse. I have shook it until my arm about fell off and it still is so thick it pours out in clumps. In today's economy it hurts to have to throw things away because you can no longer use it. I will have to throw away 1/2 of a 77 ounch bottle and a whole 77 ounch bottle if no one can tell me how to fix this. I live on a very tight budget and can not afford to throw these away, but it will not go through the dispencer, and mixing it with water will not help.

To start, I have very sensitive skin. I don't usually like changing things like body wash, face wash, lotion, and laundry detergent because that change is usually followed by a skin breakout. So I was hesitant at first to try the Downy Free and Gentle. Having used it for 2 weeks, I have not had any adverse skin reactions and my laundry is still nice and soft. I didn't expect the liquid to be so runny though. I think I may have used too much in the beginning as a result. I would buy Downy Free and Gentle again if it were on sale or I had a coupon since it's not really different enough from what I already use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to test Downy Free and Gentle on laundry day. With two loads to do, in the first I didn't use the product. In the second, I did. The first load was normal - fine, but nothing special. The second load with Downy Free and Gentle had a noticeable difference - it was so much softer, and even though the product is unscented, it felt like it smelled fresher. The laundry felt cleaner and simply looked nicer. I was extremely happy with the way in which the laundry felt and considered re-washing the first load to use the product as well!

It's also great because there is no added scent to it so it won't interfere with the scent of the detergent as well as the scent beads that I put in to my wash, that's important to my family because we don't like too strong of scents especially where there is too much mixing going on.
