We've a new bottle that upon opening was also in a gel form. Today I called the 1-800 number given here and which is also the bottle. Instead of getting to their service department i had to sit through a plug for some emergency medical alert device. When I told the lady I wasn't interested she continued to go over the reasons I should buy this service. Furious, I hung up.

I have to be very careful of everything I use in my laundry because of her severe allergys! The last free and clear I used she broke out in blistering hives. I tried the downey on a pair of her socks first to see if she would have any reaction and she was good. Thank you! Finally there's something that will soften her clothes and not break her out!

It’s super effective in getting my clothes nice and soft and it is super gentle on my family’s sensitive skin. Since using it I have had not complaints of any rash or itchy skin. I have been using Downy Free & Senstitive liquid for quite a few years and have generally never had problems with it but recently I had to throw away several shirts due to staining. I use the Downy ball and only fill up to the medium load line (I never go above this line for fear that I will use too much plus it is expensive). But I washed my load of clothes and dried them like I normally do and to my surprise I had several shirts that had greasy stains on them. So I washed them again without softener but used detergent twice and they were still stained and the fabric was now sticky feeling so I had no choice but to throw them away. Does the fabric softener go bad after a while? I'll admit I've had this bottle for a while (maybe 6-8 months) but I've never had this issue before. Because of this I might have switch to something else and throw out the rest of my 100+oz bottle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a lover of fabric softener; particularly Downy. There is nothing like having towels "Downied" as my mother used to say. However I always try and use it sparingly in an effort to save money. I was delighted and ready to try a free full size sample of this product. The product lacked the fragrance I love about Downy and it lacked the softness that regular Downy gives to laundry. I didn't really notice a difference between using it and just using detergent. However I am aware that I don't have any skin allergies to typical detergent or fabric softener so I cannot be an accurate judge of the product for those that are in need of products that do not contain certain ingredients such as dyes and perfumes.

Our doctor recommended we switch our fabric softener to one that was free of dyes. We tried Downy Free and Sensitive and his rashes went away and our clothes are still coming out nice and soft. We are very happy with this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this fabric softener is WONDERFUL! I have very sensitive skin so I like the fact that this has no dyes or perfumes. I like to air dry most of my clothes and Ultra Downey allows me to do this and still have very soft clothes. I have used this fabric softener mostly on jeans and cotton shirts and sweaters. The results have been great. The colors stay the same without fading. I would definitely us it again.

Compared to others I’ve tried this one was awesome. I will definitely be adding it to my shopping list from now on.

I have had issues with sensitive skin on an off since kindergarten. As I've gotten older the issue came back this past fall. And as I've done in times past I put everything back to free n clear. I love and adore Downy fabric softener. I refuse to use the store brand that the grocery store I work at sells. My mom has tried to convince me to use it but I won't.
