I decided to give Downy Liquid fabric softener a try and I will NOT go back! It made my normally stiff clothes super soft and clean smelling. I didn’t even have to use that much of it. My husband also noticed a difference and asked what I did differently. Wish I would have switched a long time ago!

It contains no dyes or perfumes that can irritate my sensitive skin, but still provides that level of softness I expect from Downy. I know my clothes are protected from stretching, fading and fuzz.

Keeps clothes super soft and static free without harsh scents and/or additives! Works great and so easy to use. Perfect for anyone with sensitive skin and/or allergies. A definite staple to my laundry supplies!

I have always used dryer sheets but after trying Downy Free & Gentle I actually like not having to remember to put the sheet in the dryer. My clothes do not contain an odor which I do not like or cause irritation to my skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, I do not usually get excited about laundry detergent. I typically grab whatever dye-free/ fragrance-free stuff is on sale and move along. I almost never use fabric softener. This has changed ALL of that. My clothes (and my sensory kid's clothes) are noticeably softer and brighter and they smell "good clean." Not a fragrance but clean. A little goes a long way, which is great with summer coming and an active tween. I am so happy that I was selected to try this, or I doubt I would have. Give it a try. I suspect you might love it, too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best fabric softener and protectant for the newer washers that don't use much water. The clothes rub against each other and to prevent pilling, one has to use a fabric softener. Downey Free and Gentle is very softening and reduces static, and also has no smell whatsoever. I don't like that cheap fake flowery scented stuff; I use perfume if I want a scent. Does not make your skin itch or cause any skin irritation, just makes clothes feel soft. Towels get that thick fluffy feel. I only use a minimum amount so it lasts a long time.

It made my clothes noticeably softer against my skin, and did not interfere with my tropical laundry detergent scent. Will definitely be using this going forward.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this fabric softener is WONDERFUL! I have very sensitive skin so I like the fact that this has no dyes or perfumes. I like to air dry most of my clothes and Ultra Downey allows me to do this and still have very soft clothes. I have used this fabric softener mostly on jeans and cotton shirts and sweaters. The results have been great. The colors stay the same without fading. I would definitely us it again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think Downy Free and Gentle gives clothing a special softness. my husband is highly sensitive to perfumes and scents I on the other hand love the softness Downy gives our clothing. Our grandchildren love the softness against their skin and like to cuddle up in their blanket with Downy Free and Gentle. I like that they wont get a rash with Downy !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked knowing this Downy (my usual brand for many many years!) went "free and clear" for a new option. It was clear/white... and I liked seeing that no colors were added. It makes me feel good to know I wasn't adding anything bad to the environment with the water runoff that occurs after using a washing machine. My (washed and dried) clothes smelled clean, with no lingering scents and they were soft. I do recommend this to folks who have allergies (me!!) and possible reactions to additives (me!). However, I do also enjoy the light scents of regular Downy fabric softeners, as the scent does wear off over time and when I pull out clothes from a drawer or closet, the light, faded scent is better than no scent at all- to me.
