I HANG LAUNDRY OUT ON A CLOTHES LINE IN THE SUMMER AND EVERYTHING WAS SUPER SOFT ONCE DRY. ITS PERFECT FOR PEOPLE WITH SENSITIVE SKIN AS THERE ARE NO ADDED PERFUMES OR DYES. LOVE THIS SOFTENER.

I have to be very careful of everything I use in my laundry because of her severe allergys! The last free and clear I used she broke out in blistering hives. I tried the downey on a pair of her socks first to see if she would have any reaction and she was good. Thank you! Finally there's something that will soften her clothes and not break her out!

I have been using the free & sensitive downy for years without issue. The last bottle I bought, though, had the consistency of water and has not had the same softening effect as in the past. Bummer. Anyone have recommendations for lower-chemical alternatives?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to test Downy Free and Gentle on laundry day. With two loads to do, in the first I didn't use the product. In the second, I did. The first load was normal - fine, but nothing special. The second load with Downy Free and Gentle had a noticeable difference - it was so much softer, and even though the product is unscented, it felt like it smelled fresher. The laundry felt cleaner and simply looked nicer. I was extremely happy with the way in which the laundry felt and considered re-washing the first load to use the product as well!

My clothes come out so soft and fresh - and I love that it is gentle on delicate skin. It has really made a difference in my family's clothes - love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was interested in trying this product because my daughter has sensitive skin, but a lot of other detergents/fabric softeners seem to lose their effectiveness when you get into the whole “free of this, free of that” blends. I was happy that this had all the great clothing conditioning I love about regular downy, but without anything that might irritate my daughter’s sensitive skin. I was excluding fabric softener from her washes until now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For those that suffer from allergies or sensitivities to fragrance and/or dye Ultra Downy Free & Gentle is an excellent product. Works just as well as other fabric softeners and is a great addition to the line up of other products.

I have purchased this product in the past and have always been unhappy with it. Oil, clogs my dispenser, a real mess. I stayed away for about a year and decided to give it another try. Downy, you didn't let me down. Same old, same old. What a terrible product.

With so many different options in the market targeted specifically for your little one, it is easy to be sold on them. Downy free and gentle really does the job for all clothes, but I loved it even more for my baby's clothing. His soft gentle skin needs a match for it, and this product is the one you can trust for your baby. Also my professional work attire, I noticed less wrinkles, with less fade. Being that my work attire can be expensive at times, using this product will keep my clothing going for longer!
