I love Downey products and was eager to use the Gentle Free softner. Fortunately this new product doesn’t work. First of all it clumped up, is jelly like. Also my clothes are very wrinkled. I’m so disappointed in this product that I ended up throwing it away and replacing it. Anyone else have the same experience?

The clothes and blankets I washed smelled fresh after I used the Ultra Downy Free & Gentle fabric conditioner. They were also extremely soft! I've been using fabric softner sheets for years, but my clothes have never came out nearly as soft as just one wash with the Downy free and gentle. I'm actually excited to wash my blankets to get that very soft feeling without compromising any skin sensitivity. Other fabric softner items have so much perfume in them, it's hard to use them not only for skin sensitivity, but at times, the strong scent gives me a headache. This product takes care of that since there is no strong scent.

Downy Free & Gentle is exactly the product I’ve been waiting for!! It works just as well as it’s scented counterparts and it doesn’t cause the irritation that so many other products do. So many products add scents and perfumes as a selling 'allure' and by the time you get dressed you already have multiple scents going on from your clothes, deodorant, etc. That is why Ultra Downey Free & Gentle is so amazing! You get the softness you want from a fabric softener but no perfumes or chemical scents- only the scent of fresh and clean! I love this product and highly recommend you try it. Great for your linens so you can enjoy a good nights rest without breathing in perfumed scents while you sleep. Every now and then a company creates a truly excellent product with the consumer in mind and Downey gets 5 stars for Free & Gentle!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As the main laundry-doer in our family, and mom to one child with sensitive skin, and another with severe asthma, we've long used fragrance/dye-free softeners. One thing I've noticed with some is that clothes just don't seem as cozy/soft as with scented ones. NOT the case with Downy Free & Gentle! Towels seem to be the WORST at getting soft/clean after being used by two boys for swim club, Downy left them soft and more like new than other fragrance free products we have tried.

We only use unscented washing soap, and fabric softner due to sensative skin and also a soap phobia of my partner who is totally against dyes and perfumes in anything we use in our house. These products work the trick for us on our clothes and also I can satisfy him by not using anything with perfumes. Thanks so much.

When I used this on our clothes specially to my children there was no strong scent. It is perfect when your are doing your baby’s clothes. I highly rate this product
