I definitely was skeptical because clean smelling clothes make my clothes feel cleaner in my mind, as strange as that sounds. I was taken aback at how this left my clothes feeling softer, more true to shape, and also left no detectable fragrance other than that of my detergent. I enjoy the fact that it has no dyes! I would definitely be happy to purchase this again, especially if I had a family member with sensitive skin or fragrance related allergies.

I’ve never been able to use fabric conditioner on our bedding because it would have him itching all night. I was able to convince him to give this a chance and I am thrilled to report no itching! I love that there is no overwhelming scent that is often associated with other “fabric softeners,” just fresh and clean. And as an added bonus, the static is our bedding is also gone. No more midnight lightning show! This works perfectly for us! Soft bedding with no overwhelming scent, no itching, and static free!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used a liquid fabric softener in my life, so I honestly didn't know what to expect. I read the instructions on the bottle and on my washing machine to make sure I was doing everything correctly. Because I have a pretty basic washing machine, it doesn't have a liquid fabric softener dispenser so I had to make sure I manually added it in at the right time. I'm not going to lie; that part is kind of a pain because I kept forgetting. Hence, the reason my review is so late! At any rate, I do have to say I am pleased with the overall results. It did seem that my clothes were a bit softer and they didn't seem to be as wrinkled as they usually are when I forget to take them right out of the dryer. I definitely will keep using it, but I just need to remember to add it at the proper time in my wash cycle.

As my children grew older I would sometimes mix in a little bit of the lavender fabric softener for a gentle scent that they described as nice and relaxing. I love when people compliment us on our good smelling clothing and my family loves the softness of climbing into bed, into the heavenly soft sheets and blankets.

Well, Downy Free and Gentle does all of that. Clothes come out fluffy soft. So, I would recommend it. The reason that I only am giving it 4 stars out of 5 is that it does leave some residue in the fabric softener dispenser in my clothes washing machine.

Oh wow, the washer has finally has that beautiful sound, and it's ready to be tenderly toss into my dryer like soften moist marsh mellows. Spin round not hard just full of relaxation. So fluffy with such beautiful smell like a sweet scented taffy, like walking through nature valley and a lovely scent of lily, jasmine, violet and such a nature sent of sugar roses. Pull out the softest massage and smooth flexibility a perfect aromia of such a wonderful feeling and that awesome smell.

I have purchased this product in the past and have always been unhappy with it. Oil, clogs my dispenser, a real mess. I stayed away for about a year and decided to give it another try. Downy, you didn't let me down. Same old, same old. What a terrible product.

I tried Downy Free & Gentle with our last loads of laundry. It was a little messy pouring it into the dispenser in my front load washing machine. Pouring straight from the bottle, the liquid dripped from the spout area onto the floor in the process of lifting it up to put the cap back on. Other than that the product is great. Left clothes nice and soft, and no irritation on my child's skin.

I have been using Ultra Downy liquid fabric softener for quite awhile and I didn't think that Downy Free and Gentle Liquid Fabric Conditioner would perform as well. I was wrong! In fact, I like the Free and Gentle version so well that I will be using it from now on. I really like that it has no dyes and no perfumes.

I have so much problem with static electricity Downy liquid calms it way down plus softens clothes like I want. Would not use any other brand! Besides I use my perfume for scent if I want scent.
