I love this product!

The ability to keep this product on hand for use in so many ways is very convenient. How many times do you find that your recipe calls for a certain number of eggs and when you check the egg carton in the refrigerator it doesn't have enough eggs? Now that "problem" is no longer a problem!

Works well, but made in a facility with tree nuts and soy...

this works great in my pancakes and cookie recipes, however it does have a cross contamination statement for tree nuts and soy. We have a family member who has nut allergies and egg allergies and therefore can't use this product. Would be great if Bob's would major this in an allergen free facility or at least nut free.

Very disappointed

So far, I’ve tried the egg replacer with brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and muffins, recipes that I have made many times, and none of them have come out well. They always seem underbaked when cooked to the appropriate time, and if I cook them longer, it ends up hard as rocks and still looking underbaked. Since this seems to work for some people, I have to imagine there is some trick that isn’t in the instructions. Would love some trouble shooting advise. I think of Bob’s red mill as a premium brand, so I’m very disappointed that this does not work when following the instructions to the letter.

reply from Customer Service

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any issues and frustration that you’ve experienced with our Gluten Free Egg Replacer and thank you for letting us know. Our Gluten Free Egg Replacer can be used in many applications, but generally, it works best in recipes for baked goods that use 3 eggs or less. Baked goods get a lot of structure from eggs so if a recipe calls for more than 3 eggs, or whipped eggs/egg whites, they’ll be harder to replace in a recipe. Recipes that are low in flour compared to eggs, like some brownie recipes may also be harder to modify. Whatever the issue, our products are always guaranteed and we are happy to assist further and you can reach us at customerservice@bobsredmill.com.

Makes mom-life easier

One of my kids has an egg allergy, and we live at high altitude. This egg replacer works perfect in all my baked goods, and takes away all the guess work of trying to adjust a recipe to use applesauce or other substitutes on top of the high altitude adjustments I'm already using. I was going crazy trying to figure out how to perfect my egg-free recipes before I found this. I also feel better about letting my kids (ok I mean my husband) lick the spoon after mixing up cookies or banana bread as there's no raw egg in the batter.

Almost Perfect!

My son has an egg allergy so I was very happy when I found this product! I was waiting to try this product with different recipes before writing a review. I find it to be a GREAT egg replacer for most things but - in my experience - it doesn't work well with all kinds of baked goods. It's great for pancakes, liege waffles, donuts, and crepes. My issue with cookies, brownies, and (a little bit with) cakes is that it 'deflates' the final product and it leaves it extra greasy. Maybe I need to adjust the recipe? Still haven't been able to figure it out. My next project is bread... Either way, I like it and I always keep an extra bag in my pantry.

I ordered the Bob's Red Mill mix to make a Plant Based Banana bread. It turned out very well. I combined Bob's Red Mill Oat flour with Red's Barley flour and to my surprise it come out very well. The bread had a smooth texture and a great smell. Thank you.

Best cookies I've ever made!

I used this in place of an egg in cookie batter after combining the drys with the creamed sugar and vegan butter. At this point the mixture was crumbly like moon sand. I was SO surprised how when I added that little volume, it bound the mixture so well and didn't have a strange taste like I've heard flax eggs do. The cookie dough was beautifully cohesive and my cookies are the perfect marriage of chewy and crunchy and soft. I was really skeptical this would work in baking how hen eggs do but the cookies are so good and amazing value for the price!

A perfect substitute

I purchased this product to help make my favorite baking recipes vegan and I am so impressed. You absolutely cannot tell the difference! I think it’s easier than cracking an egg. The first time I used it I made pumpkin muffins that ended up being the best ive ever eaten. I can not recommend it more highly.

Excellent!

I've used this product in the past in GF baking with tasty results. I'm stocking up because I can't go into stores right now and wanted to be sure I can have enough food through the winter. Excellent and easy. I am so grateful I could get this through the mail. Good luck everyone.

Weird taste and ruined my cookies

I made two items with this. This is the first time I've used this product. One was an English steamed pudding and the other was a chocolate chip recipe I've made for over thirty years. I bought the egg replacer to keep on hand in case we ran out of eggs (my husband buys and uses most of the eggs, and I wanted to bake for Christmas, not knowing he used all but one today while I was at work). Both the raw batter for each item tasted a bit acidic and strange. The cookies' texture was weird, and the taste was awful. I'm throwing out the rest of this product, and will never use it again. What a waste of ingredients, time and money.
