BROKEN OUT OF BOX - NOT BACKING UP THEIR PRODUCT

I was only in town for a few days to work on a rental - did an instore pickup of this shelving unit to pick up with other things while I had a truck to use. After getting it home three of the shelves were split in the middle. I first went to the website and chat tht the interior paper said to go to with any problems - the chat person said they couldn't help and to call a 800 number - which I did. That person then proceeded to tell me I had to bring back the entire item ( mostly assembled at this point and now without a truck to use to bring it back) in order for her to be able to help me at all. When I explained how that would not be possible and had pictures to show all the damage and requested the broken 3 shelves be shipped to my address she said that was not possible. She offered a $20 gift certificate for the hassle but refused to refund the items without me physically finding a way to bring it back to the store and would not ship the broken pieces to me. AWFUL SERVICE.

Come on Sams quality is dropping

I have purchased 9 of these units so far. They have been an excellent way for shelving and organizing except for my last one I purchased a few days ago. The clips to attach the upper rails for the top half of the unit changed and not for the better. I did not trust the new clip compared to the old one. Luckily I had a set of clips laying around from a previous purchase. The metal to slot the rails for the shelves are of a flimsier metal than before also. Bend very easy and harder to align compared to the older ones. These have gone way up in price and to have quality like this is unacceptable.

Great, soiid shelving. Very good value.

Very sturdy and stable. I was able to put it together, on my own, in less than an hour. I replaced 2 very weak and wobbly plastic shelving units that nearly collapsed from the weight and poor fit and design of the shelves. This one holds all of that and more without a problem.

Sturdy - Nice Wood Shelves

I have purchased 5 of these over the years. The 2 I recently purchased appear slightly different in that the metal seems less rigid when using the rubber mallet to seat things. Overall, though, I highly recommend these shelves. They are easy to put together; especially if there are 2 of you. I love that the shelves are a silky smooth wood material. I put these together in the side my side format vs 5 tall shelves. In doing that, the bottom shelf is up higher but still fits the storage bins (8 27 gal) I plan on putting on them. I assume that is for strength purposes.

You get what you pay for. Some parts are cheap.

It's okay.... the structure is ok. The pieces you use to put in between each connecting frame unit are cheap and two broke on me. I am also not a fan of the material of the actual shelf. Does not feel like it can hold weight or last a long time... once you put something on the shield the surface of the shelf scratches..

Old Design Is Superior

We have three of the original version and they are definitely sturdier. The new design has a small plastic connector for the corner sections. Previous design used a metal connector that was much larger and sturdier. The new version can easily come apart at the connecting spot. Makes moving them risky. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD DESIGN!

Horrible Shelves!

I bought these shelves a while back and they were built sturdy, really sturdy, but I just bought three more, and these are junk. They are a lawsuit waiting to happen. They used to have a strong piece of angle iron that went in between the two leg supports, now all they have is a little piece of plastic that will not hold this together. I had to add my own supports to hold the legs together. It says this unit will hold 4000 pounds, I doubt it will! Sam's has taken a huge hit in the quality department. I think a lot of the positive reviews came from the older better built shelves. I bought these on 9/24/2023, the older ones I bought about three or four years ago. If these units break, I will bring a suit against Sams for anything that breaks.

Pretty But Made with Light Gauge Metal

I have purchased more than 15 sets of 4' shelving from Sam's Club over the years, and this is the weakest of the bunch! I had ordered 2 sets of Muscle Rack 5 tier shelves that were on sale for $59.99, but somehow someone else's address was used as a "shipping Address" and therefore they were delivered to that address. I have a set of those, but now they are "Out Of Stock", and they are extremely well built. These Members Mark shelves are made similar, but the gauge of the metal in the uprights, as well as the shelf supports are approximately one-half the thickness of the Muscle Rack shelves. Flimsy is the best word that I can use. I picked up 2 sets of the Members Mark shelves, hauled one down 2 flights of stairs to the basement, and ended up keeping it rather than trying to carry it back out. I will be returning the 2nd set. Sam's Club has always provided a decent quality at a fair price, but this set is way too cheaply built for the money. They do go together in an easy manner due to the metal being so thin and is easily deformed, but they do not provide the strength of the others. In defense of Sam's, the same Muscle Rack that I originally ordered are available at other outlets but at a higher price, and that may be why Sam's has discontinued the item. I would recommend them ONLY if you did not need heavy duty shelves.

Not what I expected

The shelving unit is very sturdy and well made, just wasn't expecting it to have plastic shelves, I looked at the one in the store and got the number off it before I ordered, but I don't remember it having plastic shelves, the frame is metal, but the shelf is plastic. I couldn't find a number on the boxes that they came in to see if it matched the one I ordered

Cheap Flimsy Junk

I purchased one for my garage while it was on sale. Assembly is easy but the unit is very flimsy and the shelves were already bowed straight from the box. Shelves are made of thin plywood coated by plastic, ergo I would be absolutely amazed if it could hold the weight it is claims to be able to handle. Once assembled, it was not sturdy as the metal is thin and the brackets do not stay connected due to a cheap, "tool-free" design. I'm returning it today and will spend more for a product of higher quality, as this won't last.
