Not a bad shelving system for $70.

For the price of $70 plus tax it's not a bad shelving system. It is 18 in deep 48 in wide and a total of 6 ft tall or you can break it down into two bench height 36 in shelving systems and use everything as an 8' long bench. This is basically what I did in my shop. I added plywood top on top of the given shelf that it comes with to reinforce it. But with everything all said and done it is holding up fairly well.

Excellent product and a bargain

This item isn't always shown on the website but I did find ample supply in the Gladstone and Liberty stores. It is well built as the frame is metal and can hold up to 800 pounds per shelf. The product used to hold the items is made of pressboard and I did find two of them broken when I opened the box. However, I had all four shelving units loaded into my car by two Sam's Club employees but one did have extra tape on it and I think it may have been damaged beforehand. I exchanged it with no problem but note that the shelving is heavy duty so it will take some muscle. The price I paid was $69 for each unit. This is a great value compared to any other brand I have researched.

I can bend the boards with my finger.

The only way this will hold 800 pounds per shelf is if you are storing 2' by 4' sheets of metal. The composite board that goes on top of the side rails is flimsy and there is ZERO support in the middle. I can bend it with my finger. To make it work I'm going to have to put in 2x2 runners and top with plywood so that it will actually support anything other than stacks of sheet metal.

Difficult Assembly

This shelf system was the worst I have ever put together. The keyhole locking system for assembly of the side brackets was too loose and kept coming undone as you were putting the other sides on. To place the top of the unit, I had 2 helpers and it still was very difficult. I bought 2 shelf units, but I'm returning the second one. Do not recommend this at all.

Great Shelves for Preppers! ; )

I put two of these together by myself. Can't operate a screwdriver, but with this unit, no need for one! It says it calls for a rubber mallet, but if you're careful enough with a hammer, you can tap the tabs into the holes. I did watch a video on YouTube (Solid Ground Staging guy) on how to assemble a 6-shelves Member's Mark shelving unit, and that helped enormously the first time. Very nice shelving unit. Thought at first it was all metal, and was apprehensive when I saw it wasn't, but it appears to be quite sturdy. Have loaded both units down with canned goods, laundry detergent (jumbo size), and cleaning supplies, etc. Shelf depth a hefty 24 inches X 48 inches long. Five shelves total! Under $70-can't beat that! Sure hope more come back in stock. Will buy at least one more.

Plastic stacking inserts

I like the shelves. I like the metal frames and the strong shelf materials. However, the corner poles have a plastic insert that allows you to stack the corner poles, so you can make the unit two poles high, i.e. allows for all five shelves to be put together as one unit.... but those plastic inserts are the only thing holding the poles in place and that plastic insert in small, cheap looking and does not feel like it securely holds the shelves in place. That, I really don't like at all... noting that in the past when I bought these shelves, that insert was metal and fit much more securely. So I'm disappointed in the new plastic insert... otherwise, I like the shelves.

Best garage shelves

Went together easily. Loved that it didnt have screws or bolts. Make sure you have a rubber mallet.

Great Shelving Units!

Love them, I shopped around at all the stores for shelves, and these were by far the nicest looking, best size for the best price. Would buy again.

Sturdy

They're a good size and sturdy. Like that you can separate them into a bench or as high a shelf as needed.
