I have always used mach 3 my entire life because my beard is very thick and the 5 blade razors would clog up on me. I saw the skin guard and liked the idea of a space in between the 2 razor blades so I decided to try it. It works really well but I am concerned about how long a cartridge lasts because they are quite expensive. So can you guys at Gillette tell me how many shaves you are expected to get out of 1 cartridge and is there a way to tell when a new one should be put on? Thanks!

Tried many razors most recently dollar shave club "executive." would still get a burn and slight rash on my neck even with a brand new blade. Just swithed to the SkinGuard last week and WOW! I honestly thought the first time I used it that I left the plastic cover on it was that smooth. This blade is a life changer if you have problems shaving your neck.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Decent razor handle, good weight and nice hand feel. The reason for 3 stars is the lack of grippy surface on the handle. I shave in the shower and the combination of the shave cream and water make the razor very difficult to hold on too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The lubrication stripes feel nice when I shave, but I would prefer just 1 stripe and a more narrow design so I can get edge areas better. Edge areas like near my nostrils, the bottom of my neck and the edge of my sideburns are easier to shave closely with a more narrow blade design. The blades themselves are nice and give a close shave. My only issue is the size of the head.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The handle was a good fit in my hand; it did not feel flimsy or overly bulky so I was able to maintain a firm grip even with shaving cream slipping down the handle. The shave was nice and smooth with no nicks or cuts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The moment I opened the Gillette SkinGuard razor and removed it from the packaging I found myself quite impressed. Taking it in my hand it felt substantial without being over weight and quite comfortable to handle. Wanting to put this one to the test I gave it a try on a dry shave, no soap no shaving cream and no water. I will say it performed admirably providing a nice close shave without nicking, cutting or grabbing my skin or facial hair. On a repeat shave after 2 days of growth this razor again performed as well as the first time. Sleek and comfortable I find it to be quite agile to use for both a clean shave and for shaping around a beard. I think this one is a winner!

I had zero bumps and a smooth shave...bottom line: great shave! I have already let others know how great it worked and will definitely be buying this in the future. So glad I finally got to try it!

After that the blade did not really give me as close a shave as I like. The blade does not seem to last as long as other blades I've tried.

Then I tried this one out and I have to say that I'm really tempted to just pay the money and move back. Shaving is a pain but not with this. So far, my first 3 shaves have my face super smooth. I shave against the grain typically. These are great blades on their own. They work well and are comfortable leaving no razor burn whatsoever. I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a Smooth,effortless shave.

My skin didn't break out after using the Gillette SkinGuard Razor. This is the first and last time I use this razor. I won't recommend to this razor to others either as you don't get a nice clean shave.
