[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prior to trying this Gillette SkinGuard razor I was using a 4-blade BIC razor and was happy with it overall. This SkinGuard razor only has 2 blades which are spaced quite a ways apart, so far that there's actually a plastic bar in between the blades which is textured such that I think it's supposed to help align the hair for the next blade to pick up. I was surprised that with only two blades it was able to cut just as well as my 4-blade BIC but with the added advantage of not getting clogged up nearly as much. I have thick hair so all multi-bladed razors tend to get clogged up fairly quickly and I'm constantly running them under the shower head and tapping them against the shelf to dislodge the hair. With this razor I barely had to do that at all, just run it under the shower a couple times and that was for doing my entire face and head. I also like that these blades use the same handle as my Gillette ProGlide razor. I didn't really care for the ProGlide blades so I've just had it sitting around not being used. These handles are nice because they're metal so feel solid, but also have rubber grips making them easy to hold. Also, the heads snap on firmly and stay there. I haven't had a head break yet, unlike some other razors where I have to throw them out before the blades dull just because the connection point broke. After two uses of shaving my face and head, the white strip along the top of the blade is almost completely worn down, so I think that part could be improved, made a bit more durable, but other than that I really like these blades.

I love the skin guard feature. Definitely helps prevent bumpy skin and razor burn. If I had one complaint, it would be that it doesn't have a higher blade count. I do better with 4 or 5 blade razors. All in all, given the price point of this razor, I would definitely recommend and will consider purchasing it in the future

I clean shave my face and scalp ( male pattern baldness) everyday. All the disposable razors I have used in the past never really resulted in the very skin smooth shaved I get with this Gillette SkinGuard razor. There was always a bit of stubble "roughness" when I glided my hand on my scalp after shaving. Not anymore! I am able to press reasonably "hard" as I shave, and the skin guard really works! I never feel as if the blades will scrape my skin with the resulting notorious "skin burn" effect. I absolutely love the genius design of this razor! The shave result is the smoothest self shave I have ever achieved. I commend and applaud Gillette for a very effective razor design (I can imagine the numerous trials and interactions to achieve this optimal design.) Kudos! I am a very happy customer, and I highly recommend this very effective SkinGuard Razor.

It left me with a clean and smooth shave - really liked the skinguard - no bumps or irritation. 2 blades worked just as well as more blades - cleaned up easily

It gave me a good, close shave and I didn't have to go over any parts of my beard after I had already done them. I didn't end up with razor burn, which was the surprise and will probably have me repurchasing this razor again in the future. It wasn't a miracle worker, but it got the job done and didn't upset my skin. Give it a try if you tend to get razor burn or ingrown hairs.

I have bought every razor on the market. For some reason my facial skin always gets a hair pulled and then the bleeding starts. I used this razor thinking why not but expecting to get razor burn or something to happen but it didn't! It was the smoothest shave Ive ever gotten and was shocked ! I will recommend this to everyone i know Thanks for a razor that finally does what is supposed to!!!!!

My only complaint is that they don't last as long as I would like. My blade was beginning to get dull by the third time I used it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are the best razors on the market that I have used to date. Very sharp and provide a smooth clean shave for my tough hair but tender skin. Great blades for a great shave. One lasts me about a month. The only kind I use now!

I bought this a week ago at a Walgreens, and I have to say I love it! I needed a quick shave before going to work, and it did the job very well. I love how it is extremely easy to clean compared to the Fusion cartridges (it seems there is a small section on each side that collects hair and is impossible to clean because there is plastic behind it, boxing in the hair), and it's even easier to clean than my Gillette FatBoy DE razor. It also seems to be very effective for manscaping. My only issue with it (not an issue with the cartridge itself) is that it should come with a Proglide handle. I like to use the Gillette Slide with my DE and it seems that the Proglide comes with a feature that sort-of automatically does this. I bought the cheapest Proglide I could find just for the handle. It's possible to do this with the default Skinguard handle, but if I'm going to be lazy when shaving, I want to be LAZY. Also, despite clearly being marketed towards a certain demographic, I'm Caucasian and it works just fine on my beard, even with a bit of growth. I will definitely be buying more of these, although I'll probably be keeping my FatBoy in case I run into a situation where I can't find more cartridges.
