I have always used mach 3 my entire life because my beard is very thick and the 5 blade razors would clog up on me. I saw the skin guard and liked the idea of a space in between the 2 razor blades so I decided to try it. It works really well but I am concerned about how long a cartridge lasts because they are quite expensive. So can you guys at Gillette tell me how many shaves you are expected to get out of 1 cartridge and is there a way to tell when a new one should be put on? Thanks!

I have tried other brands and after use I get razor bumps and cuts on my face which irritate my face the next day. When try this product it has a cooling agent which doesn't bother or leave bumps.

You know...razors are very expensive these days, and when you find something that works, as this does, you want to be able to justify buying it. I found this razor to be the most comfortable shave I have experienced with a refillable. This is probably due to the various lube strips that completely surround the blades. At first I thought, that because of these, it would not last as long as other choices because the lube strips would wear away. I have been using this one for over a month (every day) and I can state that it still has life left to it. It is probably also around the top 15% of the closets shaves that i have gotten from a product of this type. When I first noticed this product on the shelves and took a good look at it, I noticed that it only had two blades. I thought that, because of this, it could not perform as well as the 5, 6, or 7 blade shavers..but it does and it even mostly out-performs them. This is where my value point comes and is what cost this product one star. The little voice inside me screams that it should cost less because of it has many less blades than the other leading choices out there. If you are someone who needs a solution to sensitive skin shaving, someone who does not have and issue with cost, or someone who just want to use a product that performs admirably, then this could be your shaver. I will still probably continue to use this shaver, but it sure would be nice if it were less expensive than the shavers that have more blades.

I haven't had any issues with razor burn or irritation at all. I will definitely be using this for as long as I can purchase it.

They aren't really all that different, however, this one did seem to agree with my skin more and it still got the job done. I'll keep buying the refill razors.

While the twin blade did the job I was hoping to get a closer shave so that you would not see whisker growth by the end of the day. I also have sensitive skin so something that is gentle on my skin was a must have. The Gillette SkinGuard Razor has delivered on both needs. It gives me a super close shave with out tearing up my neck along the way. It's easy to clean and switch out the blades and the blade refills are easy to find. Really happy with this new razor.

Gillette SkinGuard Razor was real easy to clean off during use and after use. I didn't like the closeness of the shave, I feel like if there was an extra blade the shave would probably be a little closer. I have to shave every other day with this razor.

My skin was super soft and my shave lasted longer than normal. Although i am a Gillette fan i had not used this particular razor but i will be from now on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gillette SkinGaurd Razor is well named. I have used this razor for 2 weeks and have not had one cut. I have sensitive skin and shaving frequently leaves my face feeling damaged or burning. This is the first razor I've experienced that up, down, side to side strokes don't hurt. My face gets a clean smooth shave without worry. For years I have been buying and shaving with giant head 5 blade razors. This 2 blade headed razor gets the job done. I am only holding back the 5th star (4 star rating), because the 5 blade heads give me a slightly closer shave faster. That being said, I prefer The Gillette SkinGuard Razor overall due to the comfort and gentleness. The razor burn I used to feel from my old razors is just a memory now.
