[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the OLED83C5PUA mainly for gaming and movies, and it’s been great. The picture looks unreal — blacks are truly black, colors pop, and everything looks super sharp on the big screen. Games feel smooth and responsive with no lag that I can notice, even in fast action. Movies look like a theater at home, especially with HDR — dark scenes still show detail instead of turning into a gray mess. Overall, it’s a huge upgrade and I’d absolutely recommend it if you want a big OLED that delivers.

My previous tv was a Samsung 55” OLED and this LG is a definite upgrade. Thanks to everyone at LG 👏

Out of the box, my TV was buggy. Sound would stop working (even the sound test was silent), it would disconnect from ARC, apps would crash (no remote function, except to change volume, settings, go to home screen). I downloaded the firmware from the website (which did nothing at first) then did the factory reset and viola, everything fixed. Why didn't LG support ever suggest this? (they only had me ungplug the TV which only temporarily fixes these issues). Why would I need to do this out of the box? Also, the mute button being on the volume down is really dumb-to lower my volume 20% I now have to individually hit volume down 20 times because I can't hold it for 2 seconds? Also, please attach the light sensor function to individual picture modes, I want full eye searing HDR when I want it and a nice dark picture when I want it, but the light sensor limits HDR brightness by default-really dumb-it's not just for power savings. Also setting all picture modes to +20 cold and color saturation to 60 is made everything look neon and the AI settings mode used tiny blurry images. The sound AI audio clips where so compressed and muddy that through the terrible built in speakers I just got a headache. Guys, please offer a better range of picture presets so we can have a good out of the box experience. Please fix the software updates. Please fix the mute button fiasco. I was 1 day away from a return.

While an external sound system would enhance the experience further, the internal audio is more than sufficient for everyday viewing, with clear dialogue and balanced sound. In terms of design, this TV is very impressive. The ultra-thin panel and extremely slim bezel make the screen feel almost borderless, allowing for greater immersion. The overall look is modern and premium, fitting well into any contemporary living space. Despite being a large 77-inch TV, it is lighter than expected, light enough for one adult male to handle during installation with care. This makes setup much easier compared to other TVs of similar size. Another convenient feature is Bluetooth headphone support, which is perfect for watching TV alone at night. You can enjoy content without disturbing others while still getting an immersive audio experience. Overall, the OLED77C5PUA delivers excellent performance in picture quality, refresh rate, design, and usability. It is a highly satisfying premium OLED TV and is especially recommended for users who enjoy both movies and gaming.

5 stars for screen performance. 4 stars for software and interface. Screen is fantastic especially the contrast and virtually perfect blacks. Software and interface are a little clunky.

I owned an LG C3 that I have used as a computer monitor for 2 years and absolutely love it, playing games and watching movies on it feels like looking at a painting. Excited to now buy a 77" C5 for my living room, I know its gonna be amazing!
