Great features and value.

Great picture and sound, enough ports to connect all of your external devices (HDMI and USB) as well as ethernet and or wi-fi. I love the smart remote. It mounts on the wall with standard mount. It's super light weight as well. Good value for the money, would definitely buy again.

Really impressed by this TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this TV. my only regret is not having bought it earlier. I use it with the Apple TV and the remote is really good and works automatically with my Apple TV. The menus are so good that I am considering start using them directly. Image quality is amazing, this is my first oled and I am really impressed. Specially at night is amazing. I was concern that during the day was not bright enough, but its really good, even in my house where I have floor to ceiling windows next to it. We play PS5 and the quality blowed us away here too.

A fantastic TV. If you watch TV a lot, you need it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Waited a long time for a discount, and got what I think is a great deal. Not paying full retail can soften expectations a little, but I'm fussy about picture quality. And this TV delivers near perfect picture, and with a lot of settings to tweak you can push it to your sensitivies more and more in the early weeks of ownership. The real catch-22 is that the TV shows up the shortcuts taken in compression. You can see the lack of 'bit depth' in streaming (4k hdr) vs professionally authored compression from even DVDs. So to get perfect picture quality you need a very good source. But for new UK shows, I'm still enjoying Freeview HD content (1080p), but if iPlayer has a UHD option that's the go to now. Lastly, get a real 5.1 (or better) setup, one centre speaker, and separate L+R and rears that you can spread out for a broad soundstage. A soundbar is if you have chewy pets only. Do I want the G5? Actually, I watch in the evenings in low light, and at 100% pixel brightness it's eye scorching, so I run it lower and have no need for any more brightness than the C5 can offer. Moving from a 55", I had a shock feeling of 'this is too big' for about 2 hours. That went away and is funny to think about now.

Mixed bag

Superb image and motion for 4k hdr content. Awful motion control for non-hdr content - judder cannot be eliminated regardless of Trumotion settings. For example, watching Batman Begins looked fantastic, but watching Gotham was infuriating. The former C8 oled was much, much better for this. Support for 120/144 fps is good, once you figure out the tv. Auto-switching picture modes (depending on the content detected) can be incredibly frustrating, because the tv can refuse to let you modify settings without explaining why. Sorry to say, but going from the older C8 (best tv I ever had) to the C5 would make me question buying another LG.

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. It’s great to hear you’re enjoying the picture quality and motion with 4K HDR content, but we’re sorry to hear how frustrating your experience has been with non-HDR motion and settings. We understand how noticeable judder can be, especially when you’ve had a better experience with a previous model. We also appreciate your comments around TruMotion and the automatic picture mode switching. These features are designed to optimise the viewing experience based on content, but we understand they can feel restrictive if settings can’t be adjusted as expected. If you haven’t already, it may be worth reaching out to our support team so they can run through the motion and picture settings with you in more detail, as there may be adjustments or updates that can help improve things. Thanks again for your honest feedback, we’ll make sure this is shared with the relevant teams. Kind regards,

Good picture, Sound and Remote disappointing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great TV. Shocking remote control. The pointer thing is useless. Lack of pause, record buttons and interactions with other devices. Can't fault the picture. Sound volume unreliable and is fine one second and almost silent when adverts come on. Hopefully a firmware update will address but I'm looking at third party remotes.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We’re glad to hear that you’re happy with the picture quality of your LG OLED65C5ELB, but we understand your frustration with the remote and some of the functionality. Features like the pointer, missing buttons, and inconsistent sound can definitely impact the overall experience, so your feedback is really valuable. We appreciate you taking the time to highlight these issues, comments like yours help inform future updates and improvements. Hopefully, future firmware updates will help address some of the problems you’ve experienced. Regards
