Please note seasoning your griddle top improves the cooking performance, creates a non-stick surface for cooking, prevents damage and deterioration due to moisture and humidity, and extends the life of your griddle. With continued use of your griddle, the seasoning bond will get better and better. Applying a coating of oil at the start and finish of each cook, will help to maintain seasoning. Never use soap to clean the griddle, this will destroy the seasoning. Never pour cold water on the surface, as this can cause the griddle top surface to warp. If you're experiencing issues with hot spots, or low heat, I would recommend visiting the troubleshooting page of your manual (pg. 14) or reaching out to the Member's Mark help center at: 1-888-301-0332. We would be happy to address any issues you're facing. Hope this helps!

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. Your feedback regarding the need for a full length griddle cover has been passed along. Please note there are 2 hook and loop closures on either side of the all weather griddle cover, to adjust for a tighter fit. Hope this helps!
