I was looking at a less expensive stackable unit, with top load washer, but am so glad that I spent more and got this unit. It has so many features and for being a unit that fits a smaller space, it has great capacity! I am very happy with it!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a wonderful machine, not simply because it functions reliably and quietly unlike the machines from another manufacturer that I purchased just two years ago, but also because it has so many thoughtfully designed features. The controls in the middle of the tower that work together are an obvious plus and I really like the functionality of the app. But there are other features that greatly improve upon my old appliances. For instance, bedding comes out fully dry and not balled up thanks to the dryer design. No more need to use my home remedy of sock-covered tennis balls to keep the bedding from tangling up. Also, the design of the washer seal reduces the likelihood that odor-causing mold or mildew will develop, though I am being extra vigilant with using less detergent, drying the seal, and keeping the door open between uses. I’ve already recommended this unit to two of my friends who are looking to replace their machines.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I bought this laundry combo a day after we bought our first condo in Chicago. We knew nothing beats a new washer and dryer to make our new home homier. After lengthy research and long conversations with our moms, we realized LG is one of two brands that offers the best machines. We went for LG because it has multiple features that’ll allow us to treat and clean our fabric materials with care - the customizable setting feature below my mind. Also, LG machines looks gorgeous, high tech, and sleek that I don’t have to hide it inside one of the closets - I am actually proud to have it displayed in my new home.

This washer/dryer combo is beautiful and is great for washing large items. However for my typical laundry (cotton tshirts, underwear, nice jeans) I am still trying to figure out how to make it work as well as my previous washer/dryer combo. I with the typical loads I always use cold water and dry at low heat. (I learned many years ago not to put my jeans in the dryer because they will shrink in length over time so I line dry them.) I was surprised to find that the only preset wash program that is suitable for my tshirts and tops is the delicate cycle as it is the only one that allows you to choose cold water. I am still trying to figure out the best Spin choice that will not leave the clothes too wet but not compress them so much that wrinkles are set in. As far as drying the tshirts and tops it falls far short of my older unit that this one replaced. First, NONE of the preset drying programs allow me to choose low heat; I have to use the app to download a Very Delicate program, and I would prefer not to have to use the app - I should be able to make choices in the presets for such a common usage. Second, my previous dryer offered a cool-down period with every heat level that tumbled the load with air only for about 10 minutes before declaring the load to be done. When I pulled the clothes out of the dryer they were unwrinkled and cool to the touch. This dryer has no such feature and even drying on low heat my clothes come out wrinkled; I need to experiment with setting different dry levels but I think that would just result in my clothes coming out damp. The Wrinkle Guard feature helps with not having to take the clothes out immediately but it doesn't make the wrinkles not appear in the first place. My biggest complaint is the amount of time it takes to dry out all of the gaskets to the washer's door after using it. Not only does the inside of the door and the outside of the biggest gasket have to be dried, but great care must be taken to dry the folds of the gasket in the door - there are two of them, and my fingers plus drying towel barely fit in the innermost fold. AND the door must be left open which pretty much makes the unit not compact with respect to the space it takes up. I only dried the inside of the door and the outer gasket plus leaving the door ajar the first couple of times I used it and that was not enough to keep it from having a strong mildew smell. So now I know that I need to schedule an extra 5-10 minutes to dry the washer after finishing the day's wash. Related is the filter at the bottom of the washer which apparently will need to be drained on a regular basis. This is the first time I've seen this in a washer and it is not an easy task. The little hose the comes out isn't long enough so to drain it I have to get a very shallow pan that is large enough to catch all the water or I'll have a wet floor. Another extra maintenance chore is the need to run a washer clean cycle. The manual says to do this once a month but I question whether I need to do it that often as I am a small household of one and I wonder if that frequency would be the same as for a large family. I really don't want to have to do this as I live in a drought prone area and my household water comes from a rainwater collection system. I've never had to do this with a previous washing machine and it seems like a huge waste of water to me. To sum up, my problems with this machine are: 1. The necessity to use the app to accomplish routine tasks 2. Lack of dryer choices which minimize wrinkles in the preset tasks 3. Lack of a cool down cycle (that I can find) with any dryer program 4. Washing machine should not have so much residual water which I have to clean out myself to avoid mildew 5. Washing machine should not need to be washed out on a regular basis (waste of water and electricity for hot water) and the filter should be easier to empty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this pair for my upstairs closet in our condo.This unit looks sleek and modern. I love the lighted drums, the cycle finish tunes, and the gentle touch control panel. It is very quiet, both washing and drying. The berrings in my 7 year old washer died and were not worth fixing. The large capacity of the drums are terrific! Lots of room for blankets etc. I love the auto sensing technology too.The performance of this machine is excellent. It weighs your clothes in normal mode to calculate wash time. There is also a quick wash mode that will wash clothes in 30 min. It has all the other modes like bedding, or delicate that you would expect. Drying is equally competent. A normal load of clothes or sheets can dry very quickly!

With that said we've been remodeling and upgrading our appliances and found LG Electronics Wash Tower. This washer/dryer set is brilliant! There's different settings for small loads and with a built in memory it remembers your preferred settings. How cool is that? They have thought of everything futuristic possible! I'm so happy we went with this particular set! The washer/dryer drums are big which allow for several pairs of jeans or a king sized comforter. I love the way it can be controlled from any smart phone or device that's WiFi compatible. I can be in the neighboring town and start a load with a push of a button on my phone. That my friend is genius! The steam cycle is handy for sanitizing toys and such. Another feature I really love is the non wrinkle cycle. The dryer will turn on every so often until the door is opened or until a button is pushed indicating the cycle is done. I'm very, very impressed with my wash tower! Bonus part is that it's made by a company that we've trusted using in my family for many years. There's nothing more therapeutic than the smell of fresh cleaned linen! The wash tower is very quiet, in fact it can't be heard throughout our home unless you're in the room with it. It's definitely made laundry so much more enjoyable for me and my family. If you are looking to upgrade appliances I urge you to give this wash tower a whirl! I promise it will not disappoint! Now off to do another load of towels for the week ahead.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Debating between this tower or a stackable washer/dryer and am glad to have bought this since the controls are easily reachable. Looks good and sleek with a nice soft tone to alert you when clothes are done which is a nice change from the really loud buzz from my old machine. Some things to note are the dryer settings for efficient energy is only the normal dry option at high heat. This option did not completely dry all items. I wanted lower heat to dry clothes and had to use the bedding option for medium heat. Otherwise, everything works pretty well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems to be working fine, install was tricky because it's such a large unit, ours needed to go on the 2nd floor and the team delivering it wouldn't move it up there because of safety concerns, so that's something to consider. Once we paid movers to move it up and slide it in it's worked well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have past experience with stacked front load laundry and this one is very good also with a few minor exceptions. 1. Please add a slow roll at the end of the wash cycle that will dislodge the wet items stuck to the drum walls from a very efficient extraction spin. The laundry must otherwise be pulled free while on hand and knees and wrinkles get set if removal is delayed. A firmware upgrade can accomplish this me thinks. 2. Adding laundry additives such as dry bleach substitutes while using liquid HE detergents has no proper way to be handled. Most say to dump into drum where it falls through with the likelihood of mucking up a pump or other while dissolving. I tried to premix and add to bleach dispenser only to find unused residue mucking up the dispenser. 3. Lastly the unlit indicators could use a little illumination to assist choosing alternate programs or features. Bright ambient room lighting make all but fully illuminated items undecipherable. 4. The dryer Static eliminate feature just spurts water splotches on fabric. Other that that this is a great appliance! Cleaning and fabric handling via cycle sharing between wash & dry is a great feature.

Love the feature that the dryer automatically chooses the dry cycle after a wash cycle. But you can change it if you wish. Only flaw, the washer seal cracked after six months - no worries, LG fixing it under warranty. Seems to be a common flaw. Newer machines probably have already been fixed.
