Awesome Pellet Grill for the Price!

So we debated on this one for awhile but then for the prices decided to go ahead and give it a try. I am sure glad we did! We love the extra large hopper, the spacious inside racks. I just finished smoking two turkeys and they turned out amazing. I give this one two big thumbs up! Only downside is no wifi controls or connections but honestly you can just set a timer and come and check on your meat right? Of spend three times as much and get one with wifi.

Great Smoker When Not Throwing Errors During Use

I was very impressed with the build quality and features of this smoker for the price. I used it for around 6 months with no issues to speak. The smoker seemed very efficient with the insulated box and would for 16 hours on a hopper without any issue. After 6 months the smoker would start throwing an ERR code on the screen. I cleaned everything, used fresh pellets, etc. and it would still appear randomly. I had to return the smoker for a refund after not being able to finish a cook due to the unit repeatedly cutting off.

happy so far

Very heavy and took my husband a long time to assemble. No startup problems. I tested the inside temp with 2 Thermoprobe thermometers- temps on both sides within 20 degrees of each other and the grill readout. My first cook was a low and slow pork butt on a cold windy day. No problems with temp control and the meat cooked on time - 10 hours. Used about 20 lbs of pellets. My one gripe is the lid design - in the open position it could easily slam down. For the money it's worth it. Pay twice as much for a Traeger and there will still be problems. For the average bbq cook, works fine. Beats the landó grill hands down. I'll save that one for hot grilling but this is great for slow cooking.I looked at American made - don't have 2k for a bbq.

Use better pellets and this works great

I bought this to replace a MM propane and charcoal grille that had rusted out, and since I already a smaller Traeger smoker I was really more interested in grilling at 500 than smoking. I was also able to get it during the pre July 4th sale @375 which was lowered to 335 by Sams as compensation after they somehow lost my order causing me to have to wait over 3 weeks to receive it. Shipping Since I'm not getting any younger and this thing is REALLY heavy, I opted to use my Plus member free shipping. Please note that if you select shipping, the packaging for something this heavy is not very good. Mine had some serious damage to one end of the box, but luckily did not damage the grille. Assembly Was pretty simple and I had no issues with the instructions. Please do understand this thing is very heavy. The shipping weight was 187 pounds and the box and packing couldn't have weighed even 20 pounds. I assembled by myself, but it would be advisable to have some help. Cooking and Temp control Fired up to 500+ in reasonable time and stayed between 495-510 perfectly. Grilling steaks, burgers, etc., went very well. Unfortunately when I first used it as a smoker it couldn't stay at 225 and settled between 250-265. While you can make this work I prefer 225 which my Traeger does quite well. Rather than just give up and accept this issue, I removed my inexpensive MM pellets and replaced them with better pellets. Today I smoked some beef ribs and using the higher quality pellets it worked perfectly keeping temp between 215-235 when set at 225. This is at least as good as my Traeger. I also noticed that this grill/smoker seems to produce a higher volume of smoke while cooking than my Traeger, which I think is an advantage. Prior to switching pellets I was going to rate this as 3 star, only due to the temp control issue. However, now that I'm using better pellets and am getting lower temps I have to say that this is an excellent grill/smoker, even at the list price. Getting it for 400 or under makes it a steal. Other Considerations While it does have a large amount of grille space, the spacing between the main and second grille is too tight. I had no trouble flipping steaks, but when I grilled burgers I removed the middle grill. It'll take some getting used to. The included grill cover is really nice. The small handles on either side makes removing the cover very easy, and it's a decent quality for the price (free). The last grill cover I bought was a little thicker, but lacked the well placed handles for simplifying removal. It also cost $70 7 years ago. In general the construction is very impressive, as is the fit and finish. Ultimately reliability will be the most important thing, and I am a little concerned that the electronics may not last. Count me as very pleased.

Terrible Warranty Service

I bought this grill 6 months ago and it worked great at first. Now it randomly throws ERR codes with the igniter icon flashing and shuts down. It has been stored inside and kept clean including the ash pot and pellet hopper, anyway upon calling warranty service I was told it needed a new igniter and sensor and was covered under warranty but the parts were back ordered and I would have to install them myself. Then to rub salt in the wound, they said I would have to pay $16.28 shipping. They are expecting about 6 weeks backlog for the parts.

Bought 1 of these grills brought it home assembled it, plugged it in, and an immediate ERR code. Took it back to the store they gave me a new one. Brought the 2nd grill home assembled it and fired it up. Worked great for 2 cooks, held great temperature. 3rd cook the ERR codes start coming. Not a reliable grill. Wow, impressed. FANTASTIC grill.

For context - I was a "propane grill on the deck" guy my whole life. When the pandemic hit and we were stuck at home (...with plenty o' time) I bought a Kettle and started learning how to cook on charcoal. I've enjoyed the ride and my family REALLY enjoys the food. I learned how to cook fast/hot and low/slow and would call my self a "weekend warrior backyard grilling enthusiast". Decided next spring I'd pick up a pellet smoker expand on the low/slow cooks, did the research and landed on the same brand as my gas and kettle grills - you know the name. Then we're shopping at Sam's a few weeks ago and this grill is sitting there on clearance for $199 - one left, new in the box. At that price I had to give it a try and boy am I impressed. Did research on it when I got home and learned that it's a rebranded Coleman "Cookout Pellet Grill" grill sold in Canada, Google that if you want more reviews/info. Assembly took about and hour and half (...with a beverage), was straight forward/simple with easy to follow instructions. Only needed help on one step when you have to lift it off of its side and onto legs. I probably could have done it myself but enlisted my teenaged son and made short work of it. So far I've done about ten cooks on it ranging from an all day pork butt (break in cook) to quick burgers on higher heat. Love that versatility. Right now I've got two pork shoulders that have been going all night at 200 degrees and plan to have sliders later this afternoon with football games. Regarding reviews on the temperature swings - I did a 10 hour "test smoke" - set the temperature at 225 degrees with a wifi temperature probe on the middle rack. It took the unit about 90 minutes to settle in but once it did the temps held between 219-228 with an 8 1/2 hour average of 224.6. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. A friend who has a grill of similar quality from a popular pellet grill maker says that's what he gets. The temperature readings on the grill itself swing 20-30 degrees and I assume the bottom rack would run a bit warmer, the top a bit cooler. Maybe reviews claiming wild swings aren't giving the grill enough time to settle? Or are using cheap pellets? I'm using the Smokehouse Blend pellets from Sam's right now on long overnight cook and it seems to be doing well and holding the temperature I got on my test smoke. And good smoke too. 5 PROS - Better quality than expected. MUCH better. - Price. As mentioned I got it on $199 clearance but would absolutely feel like I got a great deal paying the $399 it's currently listed at on the website. - Set it, forget it for long cooks. Probably a common pro of all pellet grills but compared to trying long cooks on charcoal with constant monitoring this is AWESOME. - Ability to do quick cooks like burgers. Took about 10-15 minutes longer than cook on propane but the addition of nice smoky flavor makes it well worth the time. - Included cover is really nice and adds to value - don't have to buy one. 5 CONS - No wifi/Bluetooth. Not a big issue to me but worth mentioning. - Cleanup. Yes, you have to vacuum it out with a shop vac. TIP - cover the baffle plate with foil before cooking. It's suggested in the manual (yes, I actually reads all of them, lol) and it makes cleanup A LOT easier. - Wish I didn't have to unscrew the grate that covers the pellet hopper to vacuum out unused pellets. I get that it's there for safety and the shelf to store the probes is handy but a "snap out" design would be much more convenient. - Shelves aren't adjustable height. - Handle to move it around feels like it's on the wrong side. Hope my review helps you, PROS far outweigh CONS to me. Looking for a solid pellet grill at a fantastic price to up your backyard BBQ game? Look no further, you found it. Buy with confidence and happy grilling!

Loving it!

There are a few bad reviews, but I bought anyway. Went together easily and fast. There are lot of things to know about pellet grills, but I just followed lighting and go to it. I just set my temperature and the grill held temperature within +/- 5 degrees F. The space and multi level are helpful. I had a brisket in for many hours, but added my side dishes on the other levels later on. Love the experience.

DO NOT BUY

I decided to give this a try because there are some good reviews and it looked well made. Believe the bad reviews. While this unit is well made it WILL NOT hold a temperature. I tested it today, before I tried to cook, I set it at 350 and got it started up, after running for about an hour the temperature never settled in, at first it shot up to 380 and then it settle to where it would vary between 360 and 370, it never dropped back to 350. Then I set it at 220, since that is where I smoke most of my meat. I let it set and just run for 3 hours and the temperature never dropped below 280 and kept bouncing to 300. The burner is crap, it varies the pellets but the fan is a constant speed, any decent controller is going to control both pellets and fan to maintain temperatures. I am in the process of cooling it down right now and it's going back to Sams. If you try to cook bbq on this you will ruin your meat.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. It is difficult to troubleshoot potential causes of temperature swings via comments, but some causes for temperature swings could be: - Quality/Type of Pellets - Opening the lid too often during cooking - Issues with combustion fan or sensor - Weather conditions Please note controller tolerance +/- 20°F is normal. To achieve the lowest temperatures (160F - 225F) on Member's Mark Pro-Series Pellet Grill, you will need to use the "SMOKE" setting. While in the "SMOKE" setting, you will not be preheating to a set temperature. Instead, you will use the "P" button to adjust the delivery speed of the pellets to the firepot, until the correct temperature is achieved on the digital controller. Allow 5-10 minutes for temperature to adjust, before changing to a different "P" setting. Flipping too quickly between "P" settings could cause dramatic temperature swings. For video instructions and tips regarding your Member's Mark Pro-Series Pellet Grill, please visit our YouTube channel.
