DO NOT BUY

I decided to give this a try because there are some good reviews and it looked well made. Believe the bad reviews. While this unit is well made it WILL NOT hold a temperature. I tested it today, before I tried to cook, I set it at 350 and got it started up, after running for about an hour the temperature never settled in, at first it shot up to 380 and then it settle to where it would vary between 360 and 370, it never dropped back to 350. Then I set it at 220, since that is where I smoke most of my meat. I let it set and just run for 3 hours and the temperature never dropped below 280 and kept bouncing to 300. The burner is crap, it varies the pellets but the fan is a constant speed, any decent controller is going to control both pellets and fan to maintain temperatures. I am in the process of cooling it down right now and it's going back to Sams. If you try to cook bbq on this you will ruin your meat.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. It is difficult to troubleshoot potential causes of temperature swings via comments, but some causes for temperature swings could be: - Quality/Type of Pellets - Opening the lid too often during cooking - Issues with combustion fan or sensor - Weather conditions Please note controller tolerance +/- 20°F is normal. To achieve the lowest temperatures (160F - 225F) on Member's Mark Pro-Series Pellet Grill, you will need to use the "SMOKE" setting. While in the "SMOKE" setting, you will not be preheating to a set temperature. Instead, you will use the "P" button to adjust the delivery speed of the pellets to the firepot, until the correct temperature is achieved on the digital controller. Allow 5-10 minutes for temperature to adjust, before changing to a different "P" setting. Flipping too quickly between "P" settings could cause dramatic temperature swings. For video instructions and tips regarding your Member's Mark Pro-Series Pellet Grill, please visit our YouTube channel. Err, I think we have a problem.

Really wanted to like this pellet smoker, but it wasn't meant to be. I followed instructions to the letter and thoroughly cleaned after each cook. However, something seemed defective from the first cook. ERR message appeared within minutes, this was only corrected by unplugging unit. Only periodic at first, I tried to get used to it. Construction is sturdy and it cooked well when it was working. Eventually, the ERR messages got so frequent that I wasn't worth keeping despite hours in forums diagnosing fixes and meticulous cleanings. Screwed up the timing of one too many family holiday meals so it was returned. I bought this grill when first available, but should have waited to do more research. Not worth the headaches.

Temp control issues

Barbecue controls work great when barbecue is in the shade and it's cool outside. Seems that control setting and barbecue setting are very close. However once the unit gets in the sun the temperature goes up 50 to 60° inside the barbecue with the same setting on the outside when it was 250 smoked a pork shoulder and everything was fine in the morning came out after the sun was up and the barbecue that was running 250 was at 375. Almost ruined the pork shoulder very skeptical on operation of their controls in the sun would not recommend this product

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear there was some difficulty maintaining temperature in your Pellet grill. Please note that there is a P setting when using your pellet grill at low temperatures in the SMOKE setting. Which is designed for temperatures between 160°F to 200°F. The P setting is designed to give you more control of the temperature when cooking at low temperatures. The P1 and P3 settings, both require monitoring, as the auger will feed the pellets faster (P1) to increase the temperature, or slower (P3) to decrease the temperature depending on your cooking needs. There a few ways we would be able to resolve any temperature issues you might be facing. Refer to the troubleshooting section in your manual. There are a number of items listed that could be checked, such as the sensor, the fan, the condition of the pellets (are they wet/clumped together?). Alternatively, don't hesitate to reach out to the Member's Mark help center at: 1-888-301-0332 we would be happy to assist with any questions you might have or provide assistance with troubleshooting.

Don't buy this smoker

The very first time I used this smoker I noticed the temperature varied by about 13 degrees. I didn't worry abut it since I feel we notice it more when it's a digital thermometer. After the first smoke turned out bad; I tried another recipe on ribs my neighbor had used. The grill shut down twice showing an error. I cleaned it out and got it to work again but the temperatures were way off. I called customer service for the grill with no help. They want you to trouble shoot it over the phone and you replace parts. Mind you it was a week old. I have a door stop for my back porch.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. The majority of pellet grills in the market have a standard tolerance of +/- 20˚F for PID controllers. There are several contributors to temperature fluctuations, but most commonly it is related to the type and size of pellets being burned, how frequent the lid is being opened and closed, heavy food loading and poor air circulation, just to name a few. There are troubleshooting steps in your pellet manual that can assist with issues causing ERR messages along with solutions to other issues and tips for lighting, maintaining temperature fixing ERROR messages and more. Our customer service team is always happy to go over troubleshooting with you over the phone as an option as well, and you're absolutely correct, we will send any needed parts right to your home to correct any issues you're facing! Save your money or buy a name brand

After 5 cooks over less than 5 months, all I get is “ERR”. It starts to light but in less than 5 minutes it starts to shutdown and says “ERR”. After thoroughly cleaning it and getting the same result, I called customer support, and they thought a new temperature sensor would resolve the issue. Unfortunately, it only has a 90 day warranty, but they will cover the cost of the part as long as I paid $16 in shipping. I could have purchased a similar product with free shipping for $12. It didn't fix the issue. I love the size and layout of the cooking area, but if it doesn't work that part does not matter. I've tried switching other parts to aftermarket to make it work to no avail. Even at the low sale price I bought it, I can't recommend it.

2 grills same issue ERR code

Bought 1 of these grills brought it home assembled it, plugged it in, and an immediate ERR code. Took it back to the store they gave me a new one. Brought the 2nd grill home assembled it and fired it up. Worked great for 2 cooks, held great temperature. 3rd cook the ERR codes start coming. Not a reliable grill. Brought it back to store for full refund within 90 days.

Works great until it doesn't

I've had this grill for just under a year. I've used it a few times a week during that time and it's worked well. However, about two months ago I got an ERR message on the controller and it wouldn't work anymore. I've tried going through the warranty process and it's been a huge headache. I explain what's happening, then they send me a part to replace. I have to pay shipping on the part. I replace the part and still get the error. So I call back, re-explain the issue, they send a different part for me to replace. I have to pay shipping on this part too. I replace the part and still get the error. Repeat this process (paying shipping each time) until I've replaced all the parts and still get the error message. Not even sure where to go from here but I have a $500 hunk of useless metal sitting in my garage now that won't cook. Avoid this product if you value your time or your money.

Temperature

I have had this grill a week now and easily put together and have cooked with it twice, great tasting food with two different kinds of wood pellets, the only problem is the temperature fluctuates when I have it set at 350, it goes from 250 to 450, wither there is food in it or not. I have tried everything in the instruction book, nothing helps, anyone with suggestions

Best electric pellet smoker

I bought this in September of 2022. Has been a great smoker. I added a 6 and 12 inch pellet stick to add more smoke. Have had excellent luck using it. Set it and forget it!!! I got it on sale for $199....$300 off. I couldn't turn that deal down and I glad I bought it.

Not a good buy!

I grilled a steak at 500° and it turned out great. But the two times I tried smoking on it it didn't even come close to holding temperature. I had to unplug it and reset it multiple times. When I had it set to 250° it would get all the way up to 300 and drop all the way back down to under 200. Hopefully I can get my money back.
