Where are the lumps? The whole idea of lump charcoal is that it doesn't burn up so fast when you use it to smoke. The pieces are so small you could do a couple of hot dogs. Made in Namibia with acacia wood. Acacia gets to be 10 to 30 ft. Can't get real big lumps with that. I guess that's why it was twenty dollars. Had to pay for the shipping from South Africa. Never thought I would have to read the small print on charcoal. I will be taking it back. Garbage.

Burns extremely efficient allowing for stable temperatures during longer burn times. Really helpful for those longer cooks. Impressive charcoal to say the least! It has delicious smoky flavor. The quality and size of product is great.

The ash cleanup is really easy and not super messy like other charcoals. It was packaged well in a very sturdy well made bag. I really enjoyed the flavor it left on our meats though. It was the best. Definitely will be buying it.

What's not to like here? - This is an affordably priced great lump charcoal! Burns hot, evenly, and lasts a long time. The product is easy to light, produces minimal ash, and has a great flavor for grilling. The folks at The Good Charcoal Company are doing things right, and their support is second to none. This charcoal is basically garbage. It came all smashed up in tiny bits so small it's almost impossible to get in my starter chimney. It lights slow because the little pieces don't allow for good air flow and when you put it in your grill it drops straight to the bottom. It also had little bits of plastic from the bag mixed into it which I had to pick out. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with like 25 pounds of the worst charcoal I've ever used.

I wasn't able to squeeze it and turn it to diamonds or anything which was kind of a bummer but I tried. Like my face was all like urrrghhh. But instead I lit it on fire and roasted weenies.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted to try this charcoal over the classic briquette style to see if any noticeable difference. Not huge chunks which makes them very suitable for multiple cook options whether you are going low and slow or high heat in a pizza oven. They do get up to temperature rather quickly and seem to burn pretty hot and mixed with some wood chunks did a great job for the smoker at lower temps as well. Packaging is good and the bag sturdy enough to move around and not worry about it falling apart. All in all very good charcoal.

Easy to Light and catches quickly. It is very slow burn so you don't have to change the charcoal out frequently. Great grill taste on food. It burns down well to allow easy clean up.

I opted with there suggestion on the bag and used charcoal chimney to get this stuff burning. It really was fully lit within 20 minutes. Everyone commented on how impressed they all were with the taste of the food when I told them I used charcoal. We were all conversing and enjoying the day that I never took any pictures of the food , all I can say is that it was not burnt and was gone faster than the other times I used other charcoal lol. All my guests took a picture of the charcoal bag so they knew which brand to buy and use in the future. Can’t wait for picnics at our local state park where I can utilize more of this charcoal all summer!!
