[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grabbed a bag of "The Good Charcoal" and the packaging is pretty solid, tells you it's fancy acacia wood and no nasty chemicals, which is cool. They're talking up the whole sustainable thing, which I like, but honestly, that plastic bag? Not the best. The charcoal itself looks decent and they're saying it burns hot and long, which is what I'm after. I can't tell how big the chunks are from the pic, but overall, it seems like a good bet if you're grilling and want something a bit greener.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I went to purchase the The Good Charcoal Lump Charcoal I was expecting a smaller bag. . To my surprise it was a pretty good sized bag. It took no time at all for it to heat up. The coals are more like chips & hubby was afraid they’d fall through in the grill especially once they got to burning good, but they didn’t. Hubby cooked marinated pork steaks & they cooked perfectly. I’m not sure how or if the charcoal gave flavors because I use a very tasty marinade. The coals were nice & hot & more than an hour later they’re still burning hot! We usually use wood from our hickory bark trees we’ve cut down or fell. Hubby is very impressed with this charcoal & said he will definitely buy more. When we use wood it heats up fast but dies out too quick. This charcoal is great! Was impressed with how easy it was to light without even using charcoal fluid and it lasted longer burning. The heat distribution was spread evenly throughout and didn’t have any ash residue. Completely impressed with this charcoal and will continue to use this brand

The package was huge and easy to stored. The only thing that minus the point about it produces a lot of smoke

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ive been using this charcoal for a while now. it really is fantastic. the chunks are not super large which i like. they are pretty consistent in size and I feel it gets a hotter more even burn throughout the cook. The company is eco friendly and has a great sustainability model. and the best part is the charcoal is chemical free and 100% natural Acacia hardwood. It burns clean and the flavor is amazing.

The chunks are all natural wood, so the food gets that great smoky flavor without any weird chemicals. Plus, it doesn’t leave a ton of ash, which makes cleaning up way easier. If you’re into grilling or smoking, this stuff is definitely worth trying!

One nice thing about the charcoal is it says that chemical-free so we hope it's true and reliable. Overall, in spite of the various small pieces the charcoal burns well and the heat stays long for our usage.
