[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This charcoal is not like the last charcoal I used. Previously had purchased the brick type of charcoal and I find it hard to light. I like the flavor of charcoal barbecue meat, but I have gotten away from it since it was more difficult for me. This charcoal has opened up a whole New World and we have broke out the charcoal barbecue. The bag was much lighter than it looked and the handle on top makes it very convenient. It opens easy and I do suggest you use something to scoop this out instead of your hands because it does transfer quite a bit and you get black everywhere. What is really nice is that it lights easily, I just used the clicker for a second and as you can see in one of the photos it already turned red. I also like that you can use a little or a lot depending on what you’re doing and how much heat might need and for how long.

I have been using The Good Charcoal for almost 2 years now and it does not disappoint. It's easy to light and gets really blazing, but works wonderfully for low and slow. It imparts a really nice smoke flavor to all things. And what I really like is the positive environmental impact the company has on the land and ecosystem in Africa, while also contributing to needy families in the States. Medium rare on the ribeye steaks, but well done otherwise, The Good Charcoal.
