My buddies that compete in BBQ use this stuff and love it. I also won a couple bags as a give away and they have preformed much better than other brands I have tried. I look forward to using it at a competition this weekend. The bang for your buck is top notch on this product.

I usually use my gas grill because well for one reason it’s larger and my wife doesn’t like the taste of charcoal grill food as much. With that being said though, this bag of good charcoal, lump charcoal Works well and perfectly in my small charcoal grill. It burns long and not a steady rate, making my burgers cook evenly at a steady temperature. We added a couple Applewood chips into it as well for extra flavor, but the flavor did not taste like I was eating charcoal, which is a plus.The ash residue was easy to clean.

I bought originally a while back, mostly for the price. But I stayed for the quality. Like grilling and bbq onceyoy learn it and get it, well you get it. Burns hot when I want a hot fast cook. And will burn slow If I want to slow cook. Give it a shot. Best bang for your buck. And they have a great cause behind them.

This chipped lump charcoal serves it purpose. Light quickly and burn hot!. Got a bag on sale for $13 I think. Used it to vortex wings, cook burgers and Salmon on a cedar plank. Stuff did its job I use A Trader Joe's paper bag to line the inside of the chimney starter. Put chips in that. Light bag. Chips get going in 20min. Will Buy Again. PS. I grilled today at 2p. Rain ran me off at 3P. Grill is still at 300 at 530p using twin basket set up Weber Kettle

I have to tell ya something! We used THE GOOD CHARCOAL for the first time at SMOKESLAM 2024. We were helping some friends with cooking a whole hog! This lump charcoal is amazing! The first 8 hours of the cook we only used one 27.5 lb bag, in all we used 2 1/2 bags. This charcoal burns hot, last long and doesn't leave a haze on your meat nor any funny smells. PLUS it helps with saving the lives of the cheetahs and Giraffes. The Good Charcoal will be our choice from now on with all our MBN comps and any other cooking/catering we do. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend you too!

Easy to Light and catches quickly. It is very slow burn so you don't have to change the charcoal out frequently. Great grill taste on food. It burns down well to allow easy clean up.

It lights up quickly and burns evenly, producing a steady, high heat that made grilling steaks and veggies so much easier. I also appreciate that it's made from sustainably sourced Acacia wood, which gives off a nice, mild, smoky flavor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We don’t use charcoal very often, but I forgot how good burgers taste cooked over charcoal. These were easy to light and get hot. Ash residue was normal. The bag ripped easy though.. overall I recommend.
