[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently picked up Good Charcoal Company's lump charcoal, and I have to say, it really surprised me! We barbecued today since it was our first spring like day, cooking up ribs, steak, corn, and veggies—all of which had a fantastic smoky flavor. The charcoal lit up quickly and kept burning for a long time. Loved how it enhanced the taste of our food, I definitely recommend giving this one a try. Packaging was also great and holds up well.

I found this charcoal easy to use, with no issues lighting. Being a novice charcoal grill user, I felt the mix of large and small pieces made lighting easier. My food cooked my food well and tasted good. I was excited to see a better option for charcoal without all the junk others have. Recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This charcoal is not like the last charcoal I used. Previously had purchased the brick type of charcoal and I find it hard to light. I like the flavor of charcoal barbecue meat, but I have gotten away from it since it was more difficult for me. This charcoal has opened up a whole New World and we have broke out the charcoal barbecue. The bag was much lighter than it looked and the handle on top makes it very convenient. It opens easy and I do suggest you use something to scoop this out instead of your hands because it does transfer quite a bit and you get black everywhere. What is really nice is that it lights easily, I just used the clicker for a second and as you can see in one of the photos it already turned red. I also like that you can use a little or a lot depending on what you’re doing and how much heat might need and for how long.

This is a great natural lump charcoal brand. You will not find a price this good in other big box stores. Outside of the price I am impressed with the quality of the product. I go through charcoal quickly with my frequent kamado joe cooking. This is a must have!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grabbed a bag of "The Good Charcoal" and the packaging is pretty solid, tells you it's fancy acacia wood and no nasty chemicals, which is cool. They're talking up the whole sustainable thing, which I like, but honestly, that plastic bag? Not the best. The charcoal itself looks decent and they're saying it burns hot and long, which is what I'm after. I can't tell how big the chunks are from the pic, but overall, it seems like a good bet if you're grilling and want something a bit greener.

Heard about this charcoal last year on the competition BBQ trail. Several teams talked about how clean it burned and really liked they flavors. I decided to try it, and they were right. This charcoal burns clean and holds temperature very consistent even on a 5+ hour cook. Very little ash so clean up was a breeze as well. This will be my go-to charcoal from now on.

It does burn a little hot and fast. The flavor is what I really like, different from regular charcoal, unique and not too powerful, a nice touch to add to your barbeque. I would recommend trying it.
