It seems like a good deal for the price, but it is not easy to light and the pieces are very small. They fall through the grate on the grill. It is very frustrating to use. I do not recommend this at all. It also did not recommend lighter fluid, but honestly, I should have used some. It may have made this test easier.

I'm very impressed with the Good Charcoal. I use both the briquettes as well as the lump charcoal. It burns hot and last quite a while. I just smoked a brisket for 13 hours at 250 degrees and didn't have to fill up again. Also like that fact that when I light it up, I don't smell fillers and other junk that are in the other brands of charcoal. Being $19.98 for a 27.5 lb. bag of lump charcoal makes purchasing a no brainer. I'm hooked and will continue to use this charcoal for the forseeable future. Nice job Rob!

I usually use my gas grill because well for one reason it’s larger and my wife doesn’t like the taste of charcoal grill food as much. With that being said though, this bag of good charcoal, lump charcoal Works well and perfectly in my small charcoal grill. It burns long and not a steady rate, making my burgers cook evenly at a steady temperature. We added a couple Applewood chips into it as well for extra flavor, but the flavor did not taste like I was eating charcoal, which is a plus.The ash residue was easy to clean.

The acacia based charcoal burns impressively hot, which is great for searing. Burn time is decently long despite a lot of small pieces. The smaller lump size works well for backyard grills and gives you good control over the heat. The charcoal burns down into a nice white ash without a heavy amount of residue left behind. However, there was a bit too much dust in the bag, which can get messy. Overall, it is a solid choice for home grilling and I would recommend for the price.

The lump charcoal comes in a nice big bag with convenient carrying handles. The bag was packed full of big lump pieces. The product was easy to light and burned for a long time with plenty of heat. We had consistent temperature throughout the entire cook. We will definitely buy again.
