I've updated my review for 2 reasons. If I could, I'd give 5 stars for customer service. This is a company that is serious about customer satisfaction. I don't know if I've ever encountered exceptional customer service like I have with this company. Very rare these days to find this effort in the owners no less! While I'm still undecided on the lump charcoal, I also used the charcoal briquettes and was extremely pleased with them I wish Sam's sold them and they are easily a 5 star product. I hope I can find them locally.

The package was huge and easy to stored. The only thing that minus the point about it produces a lot of smoke

The charcoal was very easy to light and it burned perfectly better than any charcoal I’ve used. The flavor was amazing it gave my meat and veggies a very nice smoke flavor. It burned very long and I didn’t have to do much to light it. I would recommend.

Not a ton of airborne ash, great heat distribution, wonderful flavor profile. The packaging, however, wasn’t the best and tore slightly (I didn’t take off any stars for that though, because it may have happened in the shipping process)

My husband and I bought this because it's the first clean charcoal we've seen - chemical-free! We picked up two bags because the price was amazing for a 27.5 lb bag! We are highly satisfied with the quality and will be purchasing again! We recommend looking at this company's website because they do amazing things, giving back to communities in need!

Where are the lumps? The whole idea of lump charcoal is that it doesn't burn up so fast when you use it to smoke. The pieces are so small you could do a couple of hot dogs. Made in Namibia with acacia wood. Acacia gets to be 10 to 30 ft. Can't get real big lumps with that. I guess that's why it was twenty dollars. Had to pay for the shipping from South Africa. Never thought I would have to read the small print on charcoal. I will be taking it back. Garbage.

The first thing that I noticed about this charcoal was the bag - it is strong and sturdy, not made out of paper like the competition, and comes with a plastic carrying handle. This is a huge win since the bag is 27.5 lbs (12.47 kg)! To open the bag, pull the small white strip in front first to find the thread to fully access the bag. It is recommended to use a charcoal chimney with this lump charcoal, and we did and found that it was ready to go in 15 minutes. The lump charcoal was easy to ignite and took right off; plus, it stayed lit and left no residual smoke once it was ready. It cooked all of our food evenly with excellent results, as you can see from my pictures. This lump charcoal is made with Acacia hardwood, making it fully chemical free, and all natural. The Good Charcoal company also sponsors weekly BBQs for those facing food insecurity, which truly makes them a good company. The only drawback we found in this lump charcoal is that the pieces are small, and some of it fell right through the charcoal chimney. This is a great natural lump charcoal brand. You will not find a price this good in other big box stores. Outside of the price I am impressed with the quality of the product. I go through charcoal quickly with my frequent kamado joe cooking. This is a must have!

I wasn't able to squeeze it and turn it to diamonds or anything which was kind of a bummer but I tried. Like my face was all like urrrghhh. But instead I lit it on fire and roasted weenies.
