[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a complimentary bag of The Good Charcoal from Sam’s and Influenster. It was. 27 lb bag. It seems like a good deal for the price, but it is not easy to light and the pieces are very small. They fall through the grate on the grill. It is very frustrating to use. I do not recommend this at all. It also did not recommend lighter fluid, but honestly, I should have used some. It may have made this test easier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The good charcoal Burns clean leaves very little ash remaining ,gets hot quickly and effectively, the quality and package size is very good for the price, you don't get that charcoal taste on your food it tastes delicious.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This charcoal was nothing spectacular but it was nice. It has a long burn time and the big and small pieces help the heat distribute even enough. I wouldn’t say that I will go out of my way to buy this charcoal but it was nice to know it is a good reliable brand.

I saw some comments about smaller pieces and while they are not massive i must say: This burns so hot! And my meal was perfect. After looking at the website I learned it comes from a bush not a chopped down oak, and the bush is more dense! I love the product and won't be using anything else

Burns extremely efficient allowing for stable temperatures during longer burn times. Really helpful for those longer cooks. Impressive charcoal to say the least! It has delicious smoky flavor. The quality and size of product is great.

The Good Charcoal has great packaging and it was good but it burned hot and that made it go out sooner than my regular Charcoal. I like how it’s better for the environment. I don’t know if I was just hungry but those Polish sausage was so good and they were our usual brand so I think it was the charcoal. It’s similar in price as my normal charcoal. We’re using it again tonight with chicken and I made homemade hoagie buns to go with it and I can’t wait for dinner!

I have to tell ya something! We used THE GOOD CHARCOAL for the first time at SMOKESLAM 2024. We were helping some friends with cooking a whole hog! This lump charcoal is amazing! The first 8 hours of the cook we only used one 27.5 lb bag, in all we used 2 1/2 bags. This charcoal burns hot, last long and doesn't leave a haze on your meat nor any funny smells. PLUS it helps with saving the lives of the cheetahs and Giraffes. The Good Charcoal will be our choice from now on with all our MBN comps and any other cooking/catering we do. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend you too!

I purchased several bags of the Good Charcoal Lump and have used most of it this summer. I've smoked pork shoulder, brisket, chicken, ribs, and salmon with it and I'm happy with the smoke flavor. My only critique is the size of the lump. There is a lot of small lump in the bottom of the bag and I can only use 80% of each bag as the small stuff falls through my smoker grates.

It burns well for a long time, contains no fillers or added ingredients that we wouldn’t want in our food, distributes heat evenly and left our food with a very natural tasty smoky flavor. It was easy to clean up without leaving a lot of ash residue on everything. Will be using for all our summer bbqs!
